Some women may be prostitutes as the only way to feed their family in other countries but I doubt there is much of that in the USA. Many women are drug addicts and do this as a way to make enough money to buy their drugs, Some young women turn to this after running away from home as a teenager.

I think you all should wise up! Most prostitutes are not lovely mothers just trying to feed starving kids, although that makes you feel better about them. It has been proven that most are hooked on drugs and use prostitiution to support that habit. and ps. in order to use women like this to create the facade that there is a relationship is not what dooms the customer. brothels i'd say are stupid, mostly for desperate guys that can't get a woman in their life.
