Next time America picks a fight with another country should the UK stand back and let them get on with it,and only get invoved if the UK is directly threatened or attacked,as did America in the last war ,ie Pearl Harbour.

We managed to stay out of Vietnam and look how that turned out. So it is possible to break our joined at the hip mentality, but as in WWII if the cause is justified then by all means let our forces combine, as long as it's not for alterier motives...
Mark G - this is for you, a grand total of 7 American fighter pilot's took part in the Battle of Britain, nice gesture but not as grand as you make out, as for the help before you joined in, WE BLOODY PAYED FOR IT!!! It wasn't as if it was out of the kindness of your hearts was it...

Not only should they - they will, as will every other country in the world. Bush had made America untrustworthy in the eyes of the entire world. We are in big trouble because we can no longer depend on other countries to provide timely intelligence information that will be needed to stop future attacks against us.

Pearl harbor was not in the last war!
Besides I dont think the UK picked a fight with Hitler,
Also the US claimed neutrality because we were supplying both sides

Maybe. Should the UK repay it's old debt to the United States for rebuilding their country after WW II?
Anyway, I don't agree with the war in Iraq either.

Yes,we should do exactly as you say! they only helped us in the last lot because they were attacked, they would have left us to it to sink and swim on our own

The UK should never have got involved, it's only because our leader is Bush's lapdog that we did. They should if the UK is directly threatened, but I can't see that happening in the near future.

I love these divisive questions, they are great fun. There is a more important question for you Brits to ponder. When your Muslim population begins to revolt in mass, and they will (see France), should the Americans help you? Perhaps the Americans will sit this one out and watch the pretty fiery glow from across the pond.

Blair needs cash for his expensive mortgage. To get this cash quickly he must go on the lecture circuit in America. Sucking up to the Americans guarantees good attendances and so more money for him.
