Eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables help. Basically, cutting out as much saturated and trans fats, also any sugar that is not naturally found in food (like fruit where it is there naturally) cutting down on these or cutting them out completely (your choice) really helps. If you have meat, try to stick more to the leaner meats, fish is great because of the omega 3 found naturally in it. Chicken is also good. If you prefere red meat, make sure it's lean, the healthy serving size is about 200 grams (cut out any fat around it...don't worry about all the little white lines in the meat itself as that's not really all that bad for you, but yes it is fat) which is roughly the size of a closed fist. Cut down on any soft drinks and alcohol as these actually dehydrate your body (that's why people get hangovers). Make friends with water. The recommended daily intake of water is 2 Litres or 8 glasses (same thing). This needs to be done all through out the day, if you have it all at once, it won't have the same effect as just continuously drinking it through the day. Try to exceed this amount. It may take a while to see any changes, possibly a week or two if you're lucky, maybe a month before you look at yourself in the mirror and see them.

Some of the problem is probably what things you do / have done to it. Dont color it and dont use heat on it. And dont ride motorcycles without it tied back.
Hair needs protein to grow. And good veggies. Also take a good multi vitamin and some extra Biotin.
Use a good mild shampoo and a heavy conditioner. Try Matrix sleek and smooth. It comes in orange bottles. Lasts forever. Smells good for men or women. When you rinse the conditioner leave just a little in it. Dont rinse until squeeky in other words.

I have heard omega 3 oils are good usually sold as fish oil, but lots of margarine, cooking oil, mayo etc is coming with those. Protein from eggs, fish, peanut butter etc, might help. Taking a good vitamin mineral supplement might help as well. Eat some fresh fruits and veggies too. You can also use conditioning hair mask, hot oil treatments, or leave in conditioners/oils. Biolage and Biosilk are my favorites. Your scalp might need treatment as well, just check your local drug store, they have lots to choose from. Good luck! Oh also don't be afraid to ask a nutritionist or hair stylist, they know lots about those kind of problems.

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.
