Treatment of neck pain depends on the cause of the neck pain. If it is muscular or skeletal pain, it can be treated with heat and acetaminophen. If it caused by nerve pain, you may need to undergo a different treatment. I took siezure medicine to treat a nerve disorder that caused nerve pain. Find the cause of the neck pain and you will know how to treat it.

Try water hot therapy, most are like a pool with very warm water, it helps to reduce preasure along the spine.
I tried it for my neck and back it works, but sometimes there is a long waiting list especially if your a Veteran, seeking medical care at a VA hospital.

Depends on the cause. I have a disk problem on two levels.
In order of things that help the best, I use: massage, ice, medication, hot water (jacuzzi), TENS unit, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustment, epidural injections, stretching exercises, changing positions frequently...
Doing the best you can to manage on any given day. It is not always easy with chronic pain.

Acute musculoskeletal neck or back pain is usually treated with oral analgesics (eg, acetaminophen, NSAIDs). Acute muscle spasms may be relieved by ice or heat. Oral muscle relaxants (eg, cyclobenzaprineSome Trade Names

) are controversial; because of their CNS adverse effects, these drugs should generally be avoided in elderly patients. Opioids may occasionally be necessary for severe pain.
Spinal manipulation may help pain caused by muscle spasm or after an acute back injury; however, some forms of manipulation may pose risks in patients with disk disease and osteoporosis. Prolonged bed rest and spinal traction are not beneficial. Diathermy may help reduce muscle spasm and pain after the acute stage.

You have to find the root of all the problems. Now, you can do some meditation, get some massage, and soak yourself in the tub. Mainly keep your mind off your suffering and focus on something you really care about.

neck pain comes from a contraction of the shoulders muscles,
if you can't afford hot mud treatments ,then you should take
a tranquilizer which distresses the muscles.
