help, i had hair extensions a week and a half ago and now the hair is falling out, i was told that some "shedding" is normal in the first week or so but the amount coming out seems a bit extreme (clumps of it every time i touch my hair) i'm sure this isnt right but can anyone advise me what i should do/if this is normal??? worried im going to end up looking like a freak!

Is it your own hair falling out or the extensions?

A little shedding of the extensions is normal. A good salon will book you a free appointment for a week after you have them put in, in order to tart then up a bit and show you how to wash them.

If they're falling out in clumps the salon did a very poor job and you need to go back and have them re-done for free.

If it's your own hair falling out you're either allegic to the exensions (unlikely), or if you had synthetic extensions put in they burned your own hair whilst bonding the extensions in. Either way they need to come out ASAP and you'd be looking at a refund.

Do get someone to take photos of your hair before you go back to the salon. Make sure you get specific shots of any 'bald' patches and shots of the bonds where your hair and your extensions meet.

Before you go back to the salon decide what you want. Do you want them re-done or taken out? Do you want your money back? Do you want free conditioning treatments? If you go in just saying you're 'not happy' it's really easily for them to make you feel big small and stupid. If you think that's going to happen - take a friend with you.

Good luck x

Are they sewn in or glued in?

When I had mine sewn in I was fine cos I have got strong thick hair and she used a lot of my hair to sew it into instead of just thin strands. You need to determine if its your hair or the extensions thats falling out. If its the extensions and its noticeable it is because whoever put them in didnt use a very good quality hair. If its your hair go back to the shop immediately and get them taken out. If they are glued in you could be having a reaction.

My advice in general is to go back to where they were put in and ask them for advice, or you could go to any other reputable salon who im sure will give you some advice if you ask nicely and promise to go to them when you next get a cut.

I think you better go see a hair specialist for advice & consultation. You sounded to me as if you're going bald. That really freaked me out so much. My friend just went to do hair extensions in Thailand and it was a great job. It looked really natural. But I don't know if she's going to face the same issue like yours too.

nicely while u have extensions u shouldnt wash ur hair as in lots of circumstances. -shamp+cond with oils and silcones arent sturdy _and warmth is a extensive no no! i might say positioned money into some clip in extensions. Ive wasted a minimum of $1000 on hair extensions and its no longer worth it

March back to the woman who did it and show it to her. Or ask the salon owner to make it right. Go asap.

I know someone who had them and they had a bad reaction to the glue that is used so maybe that's the problem. She had hers removed good luck.
