Well before your cat might go missing it is important to insert a chip into your cat, its a completly a harmless procejure and can be bought for a reasonable price of about 30- 50 pounds basically this chip is a tracking device which tracks down where your cat is and is pretty useful in cases like this, if your cat happens to go missing without one. Call all the nearest RSPCA companies they will have loads of advice for you about finding your cat and other information.Remember not to panic when it does go missing cats often drift off , cats are very intelligant animals and tend to always come back to their homes for food and water. Always call your nearest Rspca if your cat has been missing for over 2 days
hope this helps
good luck!

Cat's typically don't "run away". Your cat may be trapped somewhere, climbed into a truck or car and has been taken somewhere, hiding due to an injury or illness, fallen prey to some predator, or may have simply lost his way.
Check around the houseand yard to make sure he didn't crawl into anything and get stuck somewhere. Cats can fit in spaces that you might think they can't so even if it seems reduculous, don't overlook things because you think the cat couldn't fit in there or wouldn't go in there. Extend your search to the yard and especially look around areas where you know he frequents. Go door to door and ask your neighbors if they've seen him or heard from him and ask them to check around their yards, sheds, ,and garages for him as well. Look in areas around the neighborhood that you can check yourself. Look in drains that the cat may have crawled down into and check out any areas where construction work has been done recently or holes or manholes have beem opened and then resealed. Cats are curious creatures and will climib into holes they shouldn't. Post signs in your neighborhood with printed out photos of him on them and tear away tabs with your contact information. Check the local animal shelter and file a missing cat report with the shelter and in the local paper. You might also want to look/post on a site called "Flealess Market"
If the cat has an ID chip contact the company and let them know your cat is missing. When looking, call for him/her and also allow some time for a response...keep you ears peeled.
If you do find your cat and he/she isn't neutered or spayed, have it done as soon as possible as this will reduce the chances of cats roaming.
Goodluck!

Is your cat neutered or spade? If not, then he/she has gone out looking for some fun. If that's the case you will not see the cat for a week or so and usually they come back looking very sorry for themselves and thin. If they have been operated on the chances are that they have just gone wandering and you should just look around the neighbourhood. If not, then it's posters, radio appeals, vets and animal pounds you should be looking at. Good luck.

Type up little notes and put them through all the letterboxes in your vicinity asking people to check their garages and sheds. Phone your local RSCPA and Cat Protection and inform them of your missing cat. Get in touch with your local radio station, sometimes they run a slot for missing pets. Good luck.

I have cats and kittens and what i do when they go missing is if they have dry food get the packet and shake it will sometimes come to that if it has wet caned food get a fork ot something and tap the side of the can.
If that fails wait a day and do it again because by then they should be hungrier and they will come to the sound of food.

Cats very rarely go missing. They are very independent animals, they will come back if and when they are ready. But, in the meantime you could try putting up some posters with an image of your cat on and your phone number.

Get it micro chipped before you lose it the if it goes missing contact the local vets, cat protection league and RSPCA if the cat is found and sent to these the chip will tell where you live and they will contact you.

1) Ask all neighbours to check sheds/garages (your cat may have crept in to sleep and become trapped)
2) Put up posters with a picture & number (not your cats name-they may steal your cat!)
3) Ring round local vets to ask if anyone has found your cat or if your cat has been brought in (as them to put a card on the notice board).
Good Luck
