you might try alternating very hot and very cold water in the shower on your neck and back. if you really want to feel better, that is. just a little bit better. but at least you did something, righT?

or you could sit down in a kitchen chair and put your elbows on a table and put your head between your elbows and hang. scootch your elbows in closer to your head once you get it through them.

(i'm hoping tightness somewhere in your neck is making things worse)

if it is caffeine withdrawal, then only caffeine will help, and it may be too late for that.
in general, a little caffeine will tend to help headaches.

perfoming a yoga "headstand" will help, if done correctly.

if you can lie down and have someone push on your forehead with their palm, it can help

that's all i got right now

Instant but not long lasting: Pinch the skin between your index finger and thumb. Do this off and on. Or ice it. I've read that a vein there is associated with the ones that cause headaches or menstrual cramps. When you do that, it distracts the pain. Or... Massage your temples and/or scalp where there's pain and that's kind of soothing. Don't chew gum or smoke. Um... I'm trying to think of what else the Doctor's Book of Home Remedies said for headaches. If you have time, check them out. Best book ever! My mom had the books, and I read them too much! lol Hope I helped.

No such thing as instant relief. I have had migraines a couple times a month since my early 20's. After many medication trials, my Dr. suggested simple Ibuprofen. I now take 600mg of Ibuprofen and 50 mg of Gravol and my headaches are well under control. Caffeine does help too. It is a matter of finding what works for you.

the 2nd finger from ur thumb--the middle finger ca control ur headache. if u have a ball point pen take that and press it in the centre of the end of the finger--u know the part that merges with the nail. if u dont have a pen, use the nail of the thumb of the same hand. press it for a max of 15 secs. ur headache shud start receding. but 1ce manageable, either take an asprin or no medicine and try sleeping.

I would advise laying down with ice pack on your head....good nights sleep is the best thing.....if you dont have a prescribed pain killer. and are of age, I would suggest....an asprin or BC powder, I keep a few caffine pills on hand. take prob 1 a day with an asprin motrin whatever I have on hand, just to deal with chronic back pain helps me deal with the pain.
