I'm in the UK, and we think the American obsession with guns is pretty weird too. We have strict gun control laws, and a safer country for it.
When a crazed gun man burst into a school in Scotland and shot a bunch of 5 year olds, it turned out that he got his gun from the USA and smuggled it in. He couldn't get one here.
I live in a country where gun crime is relatively rare, and so I don't feel the need to protect myself by carrying a gun. If you live in a country where you feel the need to arm yourself against possible attack then THAT is the problem, not the "right to bear arms".

Just so you know, I am pro gun, and I support the right of all law abiding citizens to own guns, AND I HAVE BEEN SHOT! I was shot in the face and chest at close range with a shotgun and came very close to becoming a statistic. Not speaking of when I was in the military either. How about we blame the person that did the shooting. Are you going to blame the car for drunk drivers when they kill? NY City and Washington DC have the toughest most restrictive gun laws in the world. Their gun crime is the worst in the world. How does that happen if banning gun ownership is the answer? Switzerland has a automatic weapon in almost every house and almost no crime. If guns are the problem why haven't they all killed each other? Maybe, just maybe, the problem is the people that commit the crimes, and not the objects they use. Take away the guns and the criminals will use a knife or axe. At least when people are allowed to own guns they can try to protect themselves. Have you ever looked into the statistics on how many crimes are stopped in America every year by the private owners of guns? You might get surprised if you did. For every crime committed with a gun, two are stopped. Check it out. You can get the stats from the FBI if you E-Mail them

Why would it be funny if someone shot a pro-gun supporter? What kind of horrible person wishes for someone to get shot?
If you completely outlaw guns, do you think that would stop the majority of criminal-minded people from acquiring them? Drugs are illegal, but how widespread are those? Merely outlawing something does not make it go away, therefore, there are gun control laws. Guns must be registered. By outlawing law-abiding citizens from having guns, all you have left is the people who have acquired their guns illegally anyway.
Have you actually thought this through, or are you just jumping on a liberal bandwagon because you read someone else's argument that guns are bad, and decide that's what YOU should think too?
Do you have any idea how many guns there are in the United States, compared with the percentage of violent crimes committed with firearms? I'm going to go ahead and guess you don't, because if you did, you wouldn't be posting idiotic questions like this, which isn't even a question, but an ignorant statement.

What makes you think we are going to attacked by modern military armament, predator drones and modern armor? We have the largest military in the world. No country is going to invade us. The Second Amendment is part of the Constitution, it doesn't matter if you believe the Second Amendment should not exist, it's there so that if you want to buy a gun, you can buy one, if you don't want to buy a gun, then don't, gun ownership is not compulsory. So again, gun ownership is a constitutional right as interpreted in the Second Amendment, there is no argument that you speak of, the Amendment exists already, you cannot change it. If you don't like guns, don't have them. I wouldn't buy a Ford Taurus, that doesn't mean others won't.

I disagree, Americans should always be able to keep their guns. I am 60 years old, have owned guns since I was 9 years old and I have never pointed at nor shot another human being. While I have them around the house for protection my hobby is hunting, gets me out and away from the computer for awhile getting fresh air and exercise. On the rare occasion that I do kill something I use it as food or I don't shoot it. Do you still want to take my gun away from me?

pro gun supporters get shot all the time. It's called going to war for the Constitution and the American way of life.(defending the 2nd ammendment) Taking away guns is one of the first things a Communist or Fascist will do

About as funny as an anti-gun person paying armed guards and condemning those who can't afford their own security detail.
Or as funny as a gun toting American saving your posterior from a wild animal, or a maniac with a knife.

Is it true that your gun-related crime is up 45% since your honest, law-abiding citizens turned in their guns, leaving only the criminals and the police armed?
"...we don't hav an obcession..."
And, we don't hav an ability to spell, right?

Firearms are not as bad as you make them sound. I think that firearms save lifes. It ensures power to who has to keep us safe. My point is a guy storms the bank with a assult rifle, I think you would change your mind to supporting guns. There is two sides to every story:)

Don't think it'll work.
I bet Cheney thinks pro-gun saved his ego because he got in his shot first when his 'friend' spat in his direction.
