The answer is simple. The schools of today would rather no one smoke. They place few areas where smoking is allowed, but the teachers can pretty much do what they please. The thing is that no matter what age, students are "children" in the eyes of those with authority over us, and as long as we have to abide by their rules, they think they get to enforce what they feel is best for us. I also am a smoker and I got fed up with their tactics and smoked a cigarette with a teacher of mine where he did everyday. The teacher was not so much as verbally warned, but they were trying to suspend me for 5 days. I was told that there are few sections for smoking for a few reasons:
1) They wanted to keep it a measured distance from the school and other students
2) To possibly discourage the students from smoking (I mean, who wants to walk 4 minutes from the school, stand there for at least 5 minutes and have to walk back in the freezing snow?)
3) To follow the laws that some states have. Some schools now have policies that are mandated by the law, that no smoking can take place within a certain distance from the school
The whole thing is a sham and is ridiculous...but what can we do about it...

Smoking sections? If those were ever invented, people would die a lot faster. The goverment is trying to save your *** and make you stay alive a little longer then you would, so that's why there arent any smoking sections for you.
But how about the teachers? Well there already old and probably crummy and uneducational if they smoke. So there better of going to heaven faster then you.
You know smoking is bad for your health, you just cant stop smoking. So the goverment tries to at least make you live longer untill you can pay its taxes. :)
Hope you stop smoking...
