You, like the rest of us is Devinne. As an honest atheist you are ahead but you must seek out God to full fill your life. You do not believe in God? Well can you do something simple. Look around what ever you see that moves or not, try to see God in it. In just two weeks I promise you will have changed from being an atheist to a believer as you will see God in His full splendor. God will not punish you that is not his way

Let's assume the question is serious! Other people who believe in a god may believe that you will be 'punished' for also not believing. This punishment may just take the form of being barred from their exclusive 'Club Heaven', where everyone smiles at each other and claps along to the harp players. The only people who would punish you while you are still alive are the bell-ringers at church ruining your Sunday lie-in; the bible-bashers in the streets who shout out their silly beliefs; the Jehovah's Witnesses who knock at your door just as you sit down to eat, etc etc. Oh yes, and the extremist terrorists - but they are indiscriminate in their targets - they'll punish EVERYONE. (On behalf of god)

What does it matter if your an Atheist? Atheist don't believe in any higher power, or God for that matter. Religon is just way for man to escape from the pressures of everyday life. At least that's how Atheist see it. Religon can not be justified, but Agnostics on the other had believe in a higher power, and may actually care what God thinks. What are you really?

This question isn't worded quite right. If you are a true Atheist, that means that you have no belief in God, and as such, it would be impossible for Him to punish you, as he does not exist.
You might be mean Agnostic, though, which means that you're not sure whether or not God exists, and really are okay with either answer.
I personally believe in God. I have no proof of that, but that's what my heart tells me. It also tells me that God is good, and that he would forgive anyone for having honest doubts about his veracity. I have trouble believing that God is a vindictive jerk with no understanding of the human heart. After all, he is supposed to have created us, and he is supposed to love us! Perhaps some day God will speak to you, He hasn't to me, at least not "out loud" but that doesn't dampen my spirits any. I spent half my life being a happy agnostic, and then I went to church with my family to be close to them, and share with them. I've come to my own understanding... pray quietly to Him... no need to beat my breast and be silly about him. Just talk to Him. I feel His presence, and it helps me not to be so lonely at times when it's hard not to feel that way.
If you are interested in developing a relationship with God... try a non-denominational church, one where they don't have ultra-strict rules... and one where they will welcome your questioning spirit without judgement. Listen to what they say with an open heart, and if it doesn't feel right, find someplace else... no guilt! Eventually, you will come to your own understanding about whether or not God exists, and you will find peace within yourself.
As for punishing you... pleah... don't give it another thought. Any parent knows that his kids have to make lots of mistakes before they grow up to be anything truly worth-while, and regardless, is always there waiting for you with open arms.

I did not realize God was a punisher. (although I've heard some religious rumours about that). A Higher Power can be defined as good or bad or punishing or jealous or as "non existent", but are you going to be punished for being honest? My answer is No!
Nobody is going to be punished by God, regardless of what their thoughts are about him/her/it.

If you are an atheist, why would you worry about such things?
What exactly does it mean to be an honest atheist? have you never ever told even one lie? This question just leaves more questions about the psyche of the author. Are we trying to make people feud over religion. Save it!

You are really trying hard for the Stupidest Question Award. To think you are mis-using your God-given brain! Try reading (I assume you can read) Galations 6:7.
