because they don't see it affecting the world outside the church doors anymore, the world has become so coldhearted and bitter and the church doesn't do much of anything to reach out and change it--back in the nineties, if your car broke down in a strange town and you had no way of getting it fixed, someone from the community would take you to their church and they would help you out. less than ten years ago, if you were having financial difficulties the church would help you out with your rent or bills, but now those things don't happen anymore, because the church got used and the church got jaded. People used to feel like they were a part of something important when they went to church, like they were playing a part in making the world a better place, but now, they just feel obligated--the sermons are long winded and boring and the church itself is not practicing what it preaches. there are no more good samaritans for us to learn from, the church judges, and the church doesn't tolerate--it has become just an organizaition, that they cannot make time for, because making time for it is not important--paying their bills is, and the church isn't going to help them with that, and overtime does

1. I suppose a lot of people are out late on a Saturday night and then cannot get up in the morning.
2. A lot of them could not care less about their church .
3. If they were brought up in the faith they would probably go.
4. If you ask those that do go, because their parents make them, they will tell you it is boring.
I even see the toung ones sending texts during the service . I think those ones would be better off in bed !!! They are not even listening.

They do not realise that the purpose of our faith is to build communities of people that care for one another and those around them.

Why do non-Christians not try going to Church? Lack of guts, mainly. The reason we became Christians is we had a long, hard look at ourselves, at our selfishness, self-centredness, greed, arrogance, malice and other foul stuff. We turned to God and said "OK, God, we screwed things up. Now we will do things your way." We have turned our back on all that materiealistic dross, all that stuff that the world shoves down our throats and into our minds. We have rebelled against the world, and found freedom. We don't have to think what the media and advertisers want us to think. Our minds have been renewed, transformed. And you know what? It feels good. I mean, it feels REALLY GOOD! So good, we want to tell everyone about it. But they are trapped in their little shells, with their designer labels, their wide screen TV's and 4 by 4 cars, doing what everyone else does because they are trapped. And they call US brainwashed!

Because we are in the age of "the great falling away" spoken of during the last days.Im a Christian but have problems finding a good church because most teach a watered down version of the bible and although they say they love you they wouldnt give you the time of day out side of the church building.Hopefully the body of Christ will rise up and become stronger if persecution of Christians starts happening here as in other countries

I don't attend church anymore. I still am a firm believer in Jesus Christ, but I believe that mankind has corrupted the organized church. I'm sure there are still some churches out there that teach a pure doctrine, but I haven't found any. (And yes, I look) So, I assemble myself together with other believers apart from a church building. We worship, we pray, and we study the Bible. I'm a real Christian who doesn't attend church. Just like there are fake Christians who do attend church. Peace.

I can't speak for anyone but myself. The reason I don't go is b/c the churches in my area are all too big for my liking. I'm not a practicing Catholic; but I was raised Catholic. I want to attend a church that is very small, very personal and community oriented. I just can't find a Catholic church anywhere near my home like that. I've checked out a Methodist church; it's much smaller than the Catholics ones. But I still find them too big for my liking. In all honesty, I'm probably looking for something that doesn't exist much anymore; if at all. I'd like to attend a church like it was dipicted on Little House On the Prairie; where everyone knew each other and there was a VERY strong sense of community. The community I live in (like most) is just too big to have that "togetherness" feeling. I can go to Sunday mass and see hundreds of people, none of which I recognize.

My other reason for not going is that I don't believe God intended for me to attend church/mass to 'prove' myself to Him. I can pray to God and talk to God in the comfort of my home or in my car, or anywhere I please. I don't believe I HAVE to be among others of the same faith to speak to God.

I know I'm suppose to say, "your right, church is the way" to get those browny points but I'll stick with the truth..........

I don't go because the preacher isn't going to tell me something I don't already know. I don't need to go to church just to know how to be a good person. I live like one everyday. Not to mention many poeple treat the church like a fashion show. How is a guy suppose to consentrate when girls walk in some with their butts poking up in tight fancy clothes along with their cleavage exposed?

Many people don't go to church (or synagogue, or whatever) simply because they don't believe. They see no evidence of any all-powerful God, and see no reason to think there is one. And they realise that they can live a good life, and do good deeds, without any of these unnecessary beliefs.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits have become expensive and are not served in Churches any more and thus people stopped going there.

Also a lot of nutters wearing dog collars in the pulpit talking rubbish instead of talking about true life and what matters now.
