There are many HAPPY poor people and many SAD rich people so each individual person is a unique and individual story, we all have a story to tell our good and bad times, it is what we make of that story that really matters. If is is on your heart to help people in poverty than do that, miracles often happen through the movement of God working through his people, just as Satan works through his people. God gave us Free will and freedom of choice. Why is it that people are eager to believe in God but not the Devil, there are 2 powers going on here

Tithe your 10%,, to the poor. The 90% left is yours to do with as you will w/o guilt, don't be a fool with it, but that's it. Christians children's fund is a really good charity. I also understand that allot of people can't afford to do this.. times are tough for allot of folks out there,, that is why it is the best idea to vote democratic. if you do have the resources,, do give.. if you can't I am Sure God understands. remember ,, Love is the key,, the greatest thing of All.

People in poverty can pray all they want, they are only talking to the oxygen and CO2 in the air unless they actually get off their a$s to either help themselves or help the ones they witness in suffering. Religion is the easy way out. An excuse.
Kind of like, "Oh, I thinking about donating food and money to UNICEF, or maybe helping to reconstruct destroyed Sri Lankan villages...but um, I think I'll just pray instead."
It helps the "religious" sleep better at night.

Ok, First of all, sorry to break your heart yet again( u r visibly moved by the plight of poor things and it must have broken ur heart, thats why this question) but god doesnt exist as a supernatural magical body in the skies or anywhere, he just doesnt exist, we humans created God out of our own fear, naturally when he was trying to brave the elements, animals stronger than him, he needed a kind of protection, a kind of reassurance, a kind of magical thing larger than his own life that would just take away all his problems and protect and care for him in distress. God is the good part of our own being, good we can differentiate as always caring and loving, not harming oneself and others and so on, the acceptable good things in this world. As to the praying and doing rituals and other things in all the religions of this world, its just a form of mental relaxation, praying helps u relax and get better focus, its just a mind game. Anyway, i guess i am deviating from answering ur main question, god wont feel anything as hes not there in the form of supernatural thing, the good inside ur own personality touched u and moved u, the god in u felt bad and sad, now its up to u whether u just wanna sit and feel bad about the poor things or go and create magic by helping atleast a few or making a difference to atleast one life on this earth, it ultimately depends on u. Remember theres no religion on this earth more real and truthful than humanity, others forms of religion is just groupism created by one human being and as per own liking and principles, people followed one particular religion and then it got perpeated through the natural process of birth. I hope the God in u would really do something rather than just sitting around and nodding sympathetically for the poor.

If by any mild chance a God might exist, I'm pretty sure that He or She will be ashamed to see all of us. I'm also pretty sure that most people who assume they end up in Heaven, will be in for a huge treat someday.
I think that a God understands that "Goddammit" is NOT the most horrible word in the sentence "It's Goddammit a freakin' shame that we still allow children to die from starvation". Yet, more than once, when I say that sentence, I'm told not to curse, because God wouldn't appreciate that.
I don't think God is bad, I don't even think the whole concept is bad. It's just bad people. Sad, huh?

God does care, it is some people who don't. But, even though this may not sound like much to some, God made the poor of this earth very rich in faith. If you have never struggled with faith, you may not understand what a wonderful gift it is to "be rich in faith". But as I've said before in other answers, the USA could feed the entire earth if it would, as a nation, repent of it's greed and arrogance. And that's exactly what we should do, in my opinion. Peace.

I do not believe that God exists in the way religions say. I believe that God is like a higher power that gives everybody what they deserve. So in my opinion it's not a question of caring or not, but a question of whether we deserve something of not. And if you look at the big picture humanity has done so many wrong things that we definitely deserve all the poverty, wars and diseases. When we stop thinking only our selves and look around us things will definitely improve

I think he does. We should care too! I have a lot of respect for people that I know who choose to spend their lives in the impoverished, overpopulated countries like Honduras, India, China, and Uganda. They basically open up orphanages for the children they find on the streets and bring humanitarian relief to thousands of people. Honestly, the thought of so many people starving makes me feel guilty for being an American with a job.

The highest quality we can have is CHARITY. Jesus preached many times to feed the hungry. With all the wealth so many possess the lack of concern for the poor & needy falls on us. That's why Jesus said how hard it will be for a rich man to enter heaven. Yes, God cares but do we?

God has a reason and a purpose to everything. We all are his children...and I'm positive he grieves for his children. And yet..what is there that stops us from acting for the will of god? If we are the body...then let our words and actions heal.
