Yes, Kim, I understand but your question refers to writing and not to saying.... And YES there are lots of words in Spanish that can be abbreviated in a non-conventional way. Example: Ksa (casa); (any word beginng or ending with "ca", like automatiK, provided it is NOT followed by a vowel or consonant that confuses a word with another one); q (que), (any word containing "que" like qso); "s" = ese; you can abbreviate phrases too just as you do in English. All you have to do is play around with the sounds of consonants and vowels to substitute syllables or clusters within words and phrases. Try to figure out this macho-man compliment: S-Q-lo-T.

Observation: Sign language is not international. It can vary from country to country. For instance, take the "Ok" hand signal in the U.S. Don't ever use it a Latinamerican country because it is used to mean "sodomite".

Yes. Sign language and body language is international. Latin people use it most of the time "talking with their hands". Anglo-saxons don't know how. Try it and you will be understood. For instance, to invite somebody for a drink: Smile look straight into the eyes, say Hello loudly then sign the place of your watch on your wrist and micmic the way of drinking and then expect for the answer palm of your hands open to the sky. The other person will knod yes or no, you know that. Amitiés. Salut!

Words have a magical power, we long for those with positively tuned orientation, and convey love, care, and close relation. Anytime is the time for those words, but they work most in the early morning and the evening. Moreover, these words are needed in all types of relations be it with your mate, Boss, fellow employee, or the garbage collector. We all need them. Nice, truthful read!

I used to play games, like Gunbound and Maple Story, with a lot of Spanish-speakers. One thing I picked up on and remember is their abbrieviation for "what."

In Spanish, "what" is "qué." Instead of typing out these three letter, they replaced it with "k."

Yes, I've seen "que" abbreviated to "q" in e-mails and text messages. This does not actually produce the same sound, but it does convey the meaning.
