"Are you here to serve yourself or others?" -- Others.
"why are you here, what will you do with this gift called life" -- I am done. I have recently divorced but was blessed with a son. I teach him all I can.
"How will or do you spend your time on Earth?" -- I juggle kittens, no - I eat, breath, work, sleep, repeat - until I can see my son, then I have 2 weeks of fun, then back to my routine. I help any I can if I can as often as I can.
I genetically alter watermelon and emus in the hope of taking over the earth one day (but I can't talk about that).
I pray a lot, but I sin also. I read but watch tv. I workout but eat to much. (hence my name: moderation in all things.)
I found this place Q&A and being new I love this place... wish the old level 7's and others were still questioning people or answering there calls for help. I know I just pass gas here, but I like to think I'm of some help to a thought or idea once in a while.
The people that really helped were some powerfully smart people that pushed people to look at themselves and I think they are here, but can't figure if they are or not, as many have gotten the axe by others reporting questions that "offended" them (made them think instead of follow) probably. Hard to follow if you start thinking...
Don't report anyone, just see why they affected you so. You can learn both from a negative as well as from a positive experience.

Opinion Hat's on now.
Life is not a gift. It is a simple biological occurence. We have no purpose in life except to mate, spawn and die. Both the religious and secular philosophers have made the concept of life so complicated and contrived that no one can see the that we're here to simply take up space and fertilize it when we're done with it.
What you choose to do with your life is up to you and if it serves a purpose you desire, so be it. That's great.
But what our purpose on this planet, other than the three primary reasons listed above, is for selfish reasons. If helping others and making others happy is what gets your day going, it's still a selfish act as it makes YOU happy. The bi-product is helping others and making them happy as well.

We are all brought to this world for a reason. Some find out exactly what their here for by signs, inspirations, or other methods. Some have the talent in their brain, their hands, their bodies, their heart, or their soul. Unfortunately some of us die without finding the purpose of why they are here for and these are the people that when they pass away never get to go and they stay until they fulfill their purpose.

I am here to be at the service of others. My entire life is defined by my service. Some see that as submissiveness but I see it as fulfillment. Does that mean that people can wipe the floor with me? No. It means I hold my head high when I do what is asked of me. It means I am assertive enough to care for my needs as well as the needs of the other. The who I serve and I are together and fulfill a common goal, if we didn't we wouldn't bother.

I am here to help others .It, in turn helps me by opening my heart and relieving their pain.It give me a feeling of accomplishment helping others .I don`t need a book to guide me ,or a church board to decide who gets my money and who it will help.
I don`t charge administrative costs ,I just give what and to I can .
My heart has no prejudice ,just a will to lessen emotional pain
I can be anywhere and you will not know I`m even doing this for you .
I do most of my giving anonymously.

No need to ask me to be honest. I don't have to lie. I'm here basically to serve myself. But it doesn't hurt me to serve others, too, in the way. The two concepts are not contradictory.

I am here strictly to serve myself. But serving myself sometimes mean serving others. If it gives me pleasure to serve others, I will server others.

God's economy of things allows selfless serving of others to selfishly enhance one's own salvation.
Just another one of those divine paradoxes.
