With this question I don't mean to offend anybody. Offensive behaviour is not even in my nature. Sure, I question religions, I have no faith in God, but I have sincere questions about the Bible. This question is one of them. I hope you won't take any offense to this question, as it is not intended to do that.
Rats, now I forgot what I wanted to ask. That always happens, the disclaimers that are needed on this forum before people understand that a questioner is truly curious, takes away too much time and space. *sigh*
Which brings me to the real question I wanted to ask: What is the value of a Q&A forum, when the basic assumption of the answerer is that almost any question is meant to offend?

I do notice that a lot of people tend to get offended by questions asked here in this section. There really is no value to the Q&A forum then; since many people don't actually ANSWER the question. Instead they tell the asker why they are wrong for asking the question. I find it funny b/c usually the asker doesn't say what they believe in, they just ask a question. I want to post a question to find out the difference between the Catholic religion and the Born Again Christian religion; but I'm afraid I'd just get "attacked" for some reason. And I agree; it's too time consuming to have to put disclaimers with every question! LOL! I don't want to have to explain in great detail why I want to know or what I believe in just to find out what a Born Again Christian believes versus a Catholic.
I see that some people have totally missed your 'real' question. Which further proves what I said in a reply to someone else tonight; most people don't TRULY read a question before they answer. They must sort of skim through it or something. I think that's half the reason (if not more) that there are so many heated debates/arguments here.

My observation is this. Everywhere in the world there is constantly spiritual warfare going on. Often in our own heads the battle rages. As illustrated in Genesis, at least part of the battle has to do with decisions about good and evil. Look around, evil has an observable foot hold.
Evil has indeed infected our flesh. Examples: We prefer competition to everybody winning,,,,we would like to be the one who wears the Rolex and not the one who donates money to improve clean drinking water conditions,,,,We believe in a economic system fueled by greed, and even though their are excellent examples of the newer system of community well being that have worked in an outstanding manner we prefer the old familiar step on your friend system,,, We routinely get upset when people who need our charity and have past rigorous processes to get it, spend money say to go to a movie, and at the same time knowing full welll that the defence contract businesses steals from us at an alarming rate, and well thats just the cost of doing bussiness,,, I could point my finger for a few more pages but the point is made,,, evil has a foot hold and here on answers evil and its leader see a place where the door might be shut a little, thus crimping its style and so warriors are sent, wariors who do not even know about the war. They think distract the christians, with silly questions, ask stuff they bite on over and over, answer with demoralizing rude comments to chalf on the weak, use faulty thinking to prove obviously wrong theories, anything to delay or stop a single plea from a person who has a valid spiritual question to ask from being answered while meanwhile some of your soldiers have fallen prey to the enemys secret weapon (you may be next).
Sorry you still lose but is it that you would like to be on the side who wants everyone to be a winner if so then get that Bible and read it. Then perform the ultimate scientific experiment and sincerely ask Jesus into your heart and then you will see that there is a war and if you performed the experiment correctly you will discover our secret weapon and be prevy to our all seeing intelligence, and you will love and be loved and thats what you really desire admit it that is what you want.

I am so horribly offended! JK--what I like is when somebody posts an answer saying "I'm not going to read all that" when the reason you have to put it there is to avoid hurting their feelings
