Say you never had fights, never got annoyed at them, but the spark was gone

would you stay wth them because of the past?

my main question is, would you stay with them till someone new appeared, who you were more interested in?

If nothings wrong you dont break up, but your not really into the relationship anymore, its more of a friendship.

I think its better to end it at that point. Because its like you're with them for security, because they've always been there, and its not fair to do to one another. Thats what happened in my relationship, and even though both of us felt the same way, he ended up leaving me abruptly. Now I'm left with a broken heart, I wish we both just ended it sooner.

You'll hurt your bf/gf even more if you stay with that person just for old time's sake, not because you love him or her.
In that case, you should just let him/her go, since it is apparently the best move for the both of you. There will be heartache and misery for both in the first few weeks, but it will past.
Furthermore, why wait for someone new to come into your life before you let him/her go? He/She will only assume that you're taking advantage of the company.
No sparks doesn't mean that you cannot remain friends, though... Just don't start throwing a book at your ex-love's head...

I would just have the wait for the moment when the sparks go flyin' again. I dont thnk i'd be quiting in a relationship just because i dont feel excited anymore. Relationships doesnt always mean you have to feel high as always. if nothin' seemed to be wrong ( say a 3rd party or a constant fight ) just make a way to excite yourselves.

my boyfriend broke up with me for this very reason. i was actually the one who was totally in love, while his feelings weren't as strong as mine. in fact, he said i was more like a sister to him (totally insulting!!!) but i guess if there's no sparks then you should definitely move on. you'll find someone out there who will share those sparks with you. there's no reason to keep a relationship going if only one person has the chemistry. and sure, it'll make her feel better knowing you're still there "exculsively" until you find someone new, but no one likes ot be second best. just let her go completely.

You talk to the other person about it and see if they realise it. You dont wait till something better comes along, you end it before that.
If you have tried to put spark back into the relationship but its dead, you move on to other things that complete you.

definitely dont just wait for someone else to come along. thats kind of demeaning actually. if you dont wanna be with them, then let them know that you care about em and wanna be friends but you dont feel the same way. youre kinda just wasting time when you could actually find someone you are more compatible with... think about having to break up with someone and adding that you like someone else - it will definitely be worse if you wait. and take my advice... dont jump from relationship to relationshp - take some time to yourself, date around, and find someone you really wanna be with

Probably not. I don't like ruts and I don't do pity f***. However, if you've been with someone a long time, it doesn't stay all fireworks unless you work to keep the relationship exciting.
