The problem with going from a darker colour to a lighter colour is that you already have artificial colour pigments in your hair, and these will need to be stripped out. If you are in any way worried about having orange hair you should NOT do this at home. I will repeat myself for those who need it. DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME!
You will need to have your hair stripped using a bleaching agent or something similar and what this does is strip layers of colour out of your hair, as its not adding any colour to your hair the resulting colour is taken from the individual colours in your hair and thus, unpredictable.
I would recommend going lighter gradually with maybe a full head of streaks with a streaking cap from a hairdresser, painful but cheaper then foils and a more all over look. If you put that colour in your hair you will probably be sorry. If you have any more worries take the box in to your hairdresser, tell them what you are planning to do and ask their opinion; if they are a decent hairdresser they should point you in the right direction!

If you really want to go blonde, get it done professionally!!! Since you already colored your hair darker, there are red deposits in your hair (every dark haircolor has them, even though you can't see them). The bleaching creme will strip all your haircolor except for those red deposits which will turn orange!
I also wanted to try going blonde so I bought Clairol Born Blonde (I know, it's a different product but that doesn't matter). At that point I had about 1 inch roots (medium brown, my natural color) and the rest was reddish brown (colored). I put the product on my hair and waited. When I washed out I freaked out! The roots were almost white while the part that was previously colored was highlighter orange!!! It looked awful. I put a baseball cap on and went to a drugstore, bought a medium brown hairdye and fortunately was able to dye it to a nice brown color.
Please, save up and go to a salon, otherwise you'll be sorry.

Don't use it!!
It will **** up your hair so bad.
This stuff is like expired bleach.. if such a thing ever existed.
It will wreck your hair. I don't know why so many people have problems with it.. has it ever worked properly for ANYONE? I don't know.. (same stuff as a colour stipper don't go near it)
Go and ask a hairdresser. If it's possible to get your hair back to the way you want it they will tell you how, and do it for you. Don't take the risk that you'll make your hair even worse.

DO NOT USE IT! Unless of course you want a range of orange colored hair. Spend $40 and get it done right. If you use that boxed blonde, you will end up going to the salon and getting it fixed anyway, I guarantee it. Any salon professional will tell you that. Anyone on here should tell you that too. If they don't, they are lying. I guarantee that you will have orange hair if you use it. Save $10 and return it. Its not worth it.

You need to go to a professional. I grew up in a beauty shop, and learned not to ever try to "fix" hair color your self! Good Luck!

since you colored your hair 5 months ago, you can safely bleach it now...........on commercial products when you see what color will be achieved by using it......that means on original color.
I will advise you to go to a salon and don't try at home.........if not exact atleast they will give you 90% your original color back.
