Not really. This section is always in a fight, mostly between Atheists and Christians (and sometimes Muslims) because it's mostly Americans in here. Or you may have just come in here on a really heated night.

Debra, I wish I knew. This section needs some heavy moderation. I used to like coming in here, and this was the section I frequented most when I first started using this site. There's a lot of good users that I no longer see anymore, because they all got sick and tired, and in their wake, there's even more hate. People are accusing other people of horrible atrocities, with no proof whatsoever. I am tired of it all, I just wish humankind would learn to get along. We'll never be more than a bunch of petty two-year-olds if we continue to let our differences divide us. What I don't get is that we are all human. Why is it so bad to be different?

Everybody has a different opinion about everything - especially in Religion and Spirituality - people are on here believing anything from witchcraft to ecumenical, to fundamental to liberal to cult, to Mormon. You've got to expect that there will be a ton of conflict, answers you don't agree with and people that will irritate you. But that's all part of what makes it great - the great diversity of opinions you'll read. Some you may actually learn from.

I see that a lot of the level 5 and higher are just answering and reading. few are asking questions because of the over zealous reporting of ideas that conflict with over sensitive people (lvl 1-3 mainly)
I miss many of the level 5 and higher as they had deeper background and a history you could investigate. These new people are harder to read. I like Depair lately. I looked for Jim Darwin or jim Kirk all day yesterday - and I was here for hours looking. I hope you and the higher levels stay, Debra M - really humans need "elders" more than many think. (Not saying your old!!! really!!!)
Why can't people have a person gently push their faith to test it, with out freaking out?

I don't think it's changed. It's always been so. Only that the site is growing. There are more people like the ones there were even on day 1.

In response to a previous post.
This section is for religion and spirituality; this does not imply Jews and Christians ony.
As far as Christians being bashed, I don't do that, though I will respond harshly if my own religion (Pagan) is maligned. I will also challenge the assertion that anything other than faith in Jesus is demonic or leads one to hell.
It's perfectly acceptable to me if a Christian claims to believe that his way is right, but to then go on and say that I'm serving the Devil, is crossing a line which I will not tolerate.
I don't mind debate, I don't mind mutual learning and understanding. What I can't handle is self-righteous attacks against any religion that one disagrees with.
I respect anybody's beliefs, and support their right to believe them. Please have the same respect toward me and my beliefs.

How? if anything it has become a sounding board for all types of religion and Faiths of all kinds. I find it interesting to see and here about these other beliefs. if only some of the haters would tone down their language things might be a little less threatening. Peace.

I agree. Some of those who used to give lengthy and educational answers don't seem to come around near as often. I have read one or two of their thoughts on this category and they state they will not answer as often. I think they have gotten up to the level of 50 to 100 thousand points, and apparently when you get that high or answer that many questions a lot more people want to report you. Pettiness it seems is endemic in this type of forum.

People have caught on to the joke this forum has become. There seems to be no more room for a serious Q&A forum here now. It has become a haunt for Agnostics, Atheist, and God Haters to bash and belittle Jews and Christians and our sacred scriptures. Its no wonder people have moved on to find other sites so they may have real exchanges of Q&A regarding religion instead of being attacked for their beliefs.

Many of the atheists have left. The balance of power has been upset, and now the whole thing is falling apart as the judgemental Christians begin to attack everyone else. I knew this would happen...
