I learned to play long before the advent of personal computers and programs. My guitar hero was a live person--Chet Atkins--and from him I learned not only my individual style, but that the fretboard is a never ending challenge.

Study other guitarists' methods, be open to all forms of playing, and focus on improvement with music theory and continual study and practice.

It would help, but I'm a firm believer that practice makes perfect. Practice is the only way you'll get better.

it would teach you about a guitar, but the only way to get better at it is to practice.
