Before I ask this question, I do have an appointment to get into "urgent care" ( you have to make appts. for my insurance to use urgent care since there is no hospital near) tomorrow.

I've been having chest pain all day. It doesn't hurt when I'm just sitting still or standing, but when I bend down or turn my upper body it hurts. It's a sharp pain. I've taken tums thinking it might be hurtburn, but they haven't helped. I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be and how I can relieve it until I get to the Dr tomorrow??

Okay, thanks for the help everyone! I was just freaked. I finally got through to an advice nurse and everything sounds find. She said it just sounds like a strained muscle. All I have to do is not do whatever is causing the pain-which is great since I'm in the middle of moving! She said to take motrin and put bengay on it. Thanks for the advice all!

Since you've never experienced this before, the best thing for you to do is relax and do nothing until you can see a doctor. If it is your heart, exertion is the last thing you want to do. I hope for the best for you.

Wow. It turns out like your describing some thing very similar to what I skilled as a child and on occasion as an grownup. I get the ones achy, sharp discomfort in my chest / rib field. Often the discomfort is slight however many times it is so dangerous I can barley take a breath. It additionally feels find it irresistible begins on the backside of my rib cage after which travels up my aspect because it slowly is going away. I was once advised by means of my general practitioner it was once "developing" pains. Then whilst I was once older, I introduced it up once more and he mentioned it might be a muscle junk mail. It's been months when you consider that I've had one. With me, the discomfort best final a couple of seconds and on the such a lot a minute or 2. They additionally best look to occur a couple of times in an afternoon whilst i do have them. I might endorse that in the event that they arise extra regularly, more than one instances in an afternoon I'd see any one approximately it. It might be not anything or it might be some thing (style of visible reply).

If you condition persists after following the advice of the nurse you spoke to, when you go into urgent care ask to have your chart looked at by a diagnostician. Nurses and even doctors can be wrong sometimes, and so the more scenarios they run on you the more accurate their trial and error process of elimination will be. good luck.

yeah, it's not a heart attack. Could be gas which does act funny some time -- possibly an inflamed muscle. Try a couple of aspirin and if they work it's the muscle. Try some amtigas plls and if they help well---.Wow you sure do have a crappy urgent care situation.

Depending on how old you are, it could just be growing pains. Seeing how you are talking about Insurance though, you probably older. Not sure what is causing your pain, but every time you get the sharp shooting pain take a large deep breath and that might get rid of the pain. God Bless!

It sounds like it may be your lung or it could be gas. Try eating a little baking soda. Hope you feel better and that it is not a heart problem. You'll be just fine!
