the two best sites out there, the first is a professional teachers site, and the lessons are easy for anyone to do and will teach the kiddies what the schools expect the kids to know for school. the lessons are more child-directed and open-ended to allow the child to direct learning, which leads to an increase in knowledge. The old cut-n-paste theme days really doesn't work nowadays. Kids have learned to 'turn off the teacher' if they become disinterested. (it's the TV/video game syndrome)
