Aspirin has been known to be a moderate blood thinner, with reduced clotting ability, so it is possible for the hemmoroid bleeding to increase somewhat. I suggest you keep up the aspirin regimen, but also consider taking a daily dose of a fiber supplement, such as Metamucil or Citrucel to aid in easier bowel movements.

Aspirin is most likely the reason your bleeding got worse.Aspririn is not a 'blood thinner' it is an antiplatelet agent..in other words it does not allow your platelets to form plugs and block a site of possible bleed.
Aspirin is definitely cardioprotective especially in a smoker..but like all treatments it has to be a balance of risk vs. benefit.
Finally .....you hit the nail right on the head... the answer is not adding a protective agent...but removing the risk factor that you acutally pay for..quit smoking..try the patch/ gum..if they dont work find a free clinic near you ( there must be one at the nearest University/Community training hospital) and they should be able to prescirbe meds..wellbutrin works for some....Pfizer just came out with a new med
Good luck.

asprin can cause bleed or more of it, it is a natural blood thinner that is why a person should take it if they have had a heart attack. The asprin thins out the blood enough so it gos through the heart better and so the heart doesn't have to work as hard. If a person has a problem with bleeding they should talk to a doctor first before taking a daily asprin. I would suggest you stop the aspirin if you are seeing a increase in bleeding from hermoriods, you could have a serious bleeding issue and not know it.

Aspirin will definitely increase clotting time. If it induces bleeding at the 81 milligram dose, try cutting the dose in half (cutting the tablet in half or taking a tablet every other day) to determine if it is sufficient to stop the bleeding. You should discuss the problem with a doctor. Maybe if you quit smoking you could afford an occasional doctor's visit.

Aspirin inhibits platelet function, which is important for blood clotting. Yes, the two are related.

i cant believe people dont pay attention to the ads on tv and warnings on the bottle, asprin is really bad for anyone with a tender stomach, yes it causes bleeding. its an acid you know.
