Unopened alcohol is always suppose to be transported in the trunk. No matter what the age of the driver (no alcohol open or closed is supposed to be inside the car). Your cousin must have a legal D.L and the car must be insured.
As long as all those comply, you are OK.

If your cousin is under 18, it is illegal for him to drive with closed bottles in the car...However, if he is 18, he can transport them in the trunk of the car. Don"t take chances...why can't an adult do this instead? They have to be in the trunk of the car, no matter what the age of the driver.

As long as they have not been opened it should be OK. Put them in the trunk somewhat covered. And your cousin needs current license and registration with auto insurance. Very important that he has not been drinking while transporting them to you. Why would you ask a 17 year old kid to do this for you?

Very touchy situation. If he is driving his own car by himself and is pulled over for some reason and gets searched, which is highly unlikely, he can be arrested for possession of alcohol because he is underage and it is illegal for him to have it. If it is your car and he is driving it, put the alcohol in the trunk and I don't think they can say anything but they will try too make something of it. Best not even go there!

it varies by state. In California it is legal if three conditions are met, first the obttles have to still be sealed (NEVER been opened), second they have to be transoported in the trunk and third there has to be someone over 21 in the vehicle with them if the Under age person is driving. Other states have different laws...

i think of it relies upon on the state, yet i might think of that having a minor in possession of alcohol is a volatile proposition, regardless of if the bottles are closed and the motives completely on the up and up.

If they are closed, that proves that no one has taken a drink from them. Put them in the trunk where the spare tire is, and drive carefully.

Technically it is probably illegal. Write a note stating that they belong to you, not him, just in case he gets stopped. The best option is to keep them in the trunk. They must not be within reach of the driver, opened or not.
