Start at your pinky of your left hand, or index of your right, and name off each month counting each knuckle and the gap between.

When you get to the last knuckle, count it twice, and then go back.

The knuckles have 31, the others have 30, except February which has 28, (or 29)

The two knuckles in a row, are July and August, 31 days each.

You use the your knuckles and the area between your knuckles of one hand only. You start with the far left knuckle and name it January. Then move to the lower area next to the knuckle and call that February. Then to the next knuckle and call that March. Keep doing this until you get to the last knuckle, that will be July. Now, you name that one again and call it August. You then move back to where you started naming the rest of the months. The months that were named at the top of each knuckle have 31 days. The months between each knuckle have 30 days, except February which has 28.

I never heard of the fist technique but I learned this little rhyme when I was a kid:

30 days hath september, april, june and november. All the rest have 31 except february all alone.

You tap ur knuckles and their dimples in orders starting from the index finger. When u reach the pinky u tap twice before reversing and going back toward the index finger. The knuckle denote the month with 31 days; the dimple denote the month with 30 and (February) 28/29 days. Thus what happen is this; January – knuckle of index finger – 31 days; February – dimple between index and middle finger knuckle – 28/29 days; March – knuckle of middle finger – 31 days; April – dimple between middle and ring finger – 30 days; May – knuckle of ring finger – 31 days; June – dimple between knuckle of pinky and ring finger – 30 days; July/August – knuckle of pinky finger – 31 days (remember u tap it twice); September – dimple between knuckles of ring and pinky finger – 30 days, ..and so on. Eventually you end on December and the knuckle of middle finger. Hope this helps.
