Or, you could just be low in calcium. Are you a vegetarian? Do you get any dairy or meat products in your diet? Do you get any exercise?
Try taking a calcium supplement (one with vitamin D in it!) after a meal once a day, and see if that helps. Also, make sure you are getting at least some minimal exercise everyday.

It sounds like you suffer from PICA. that is eating non-food items and chalk is included. It has many causes, iron defliciency, pregnancy, and of course certain mental conditions. so best to get checked.
