All three budgie babies have grey down. Their feathers are starting to come in nicely. They all have the black stripes on their heads and wings. Each one is about a 2 - 3 day difference in age. They all look the same color to me. Since this is my first time with a mom and dad budgie and the sweet little babies, I am unsure about how the colors of the feathers emerge. I was wondering if it was possible that they would be grey parakeets. They are all doing very well and Bacall and Bogie are good parents, feeding them well and caring for them. Does anyone know about the down color and the feather color. I thank you in advance for any answers.

You can see the colour in 28 days just above were the tail starts and above the legs. The fluffy down is just to keep them warm because the parents has stopped sitting on them all the time.
The black stripes will stay at the back of the head but not at the front/top this will go in the first moult at 4-6 months old

My two chicks are 28 days old. They are twins hatched the same time. 1 is yellowhead blue & the other is yellowhead grey.

At 21 days you can guess the colour. First coloured feathers are on the body just above where the tail starts. If you cant see the colour now a few days is all you need to end your suspense. At 28 days the baby will be almost completely covered with adult colours. The black stripes on the head will go away as the budgie gets older.

no. down is same color for all baby parakeets, you'll have to wait until the feathers come in and open before you will know what colors the babies will be

call the on call perdiatrician in the medical institution the place your toddler became born. they could have you ever immediately deliver the toddler in to get some blood interested in verify the toddler's bilirubin stages. it is in all risk jaundice, notwithstanding it needs to be dealt with immediately by way of fact a build of ineffective bilibrubin stages (that's what reasons jaundice) if left untreated could have all forms of undesirable area outcomes. If the toddler has a pediatrician, you may call them as nicely by way of fact the medical institution could want a doctor's RX to get the blood drawn. in case you haven't any longer have been given a peditrician perfect now by way of fact the toddler is so new, I recommend going perfect to the ER. it is severe.

It is more than likely the babies will have the same genetic makeup as the parents! Hope this helps you!
