Yeah, we thought it was because our battery was overcharged, but it wasn't. So we put in a brand new battery (our friend's) and it still didn't work? Solutions would be AWESOME.

Has there been any damage at all to this camera....dropped on floor, moisture, dirty environment (beach)? Is the lens retracted to the off position or still zoomed out? Does it turn on at all or on then off? If it does nothing the battery contacts would be a good place to look first. Make sure they are clean. If it turns on then off it could be a stuck zoom lens. It probably would have to be disassembled to fix. Read through your manual carefully first to try and find the problem. It could be "egg on your face" simple too.

If any light comes on for just a second,then goes right off you have a problem,but it could be anything.Electronics for the past 10 years or so have what is called a safety shutdown circuit.If there is any problem instead of trying to run and burning itself up,it will shutdown.The problem could be in any part of camera and would take a tech to find it.
