I would salute you at any time for being a Man.
There are a lot of advantages to be had in the future as well as the present. One thing you will learn is what life is all about. Not like the bleeding hearts that don't understand all they know about anything. One great thing about it is that your coordination will improve and your physical condition when you finish Basic Training will be outstanding. I think you will wear the uniform proudly and you will learn what a pitiful bunch of
losers the civilian population is composed of.

There is no better way to become an adult. As a business owner I hired and fired a lot of people over the course of over 40 years, and without a doubt X military make the best employees.

Good luck to you. I'd say have fun, but I'm not exactly sure you will be doing much of that.
I can always tell a military man from the way he walks. May you develop the walk, as you earn respect from both your peers and the rest of the Nation.
Our hearts and prayers go out to you, soldier. When you come back, I will definately salute you. No matter what your rank.

Congratulations!!!! My daughter's been in the Army for 4 years and I've never been prouder of her. The Army, or any other branch, really, will change your whole life. I think everyone could use a "little bit" of that training. Good luck to you!

It was a good 8 years for me. I got out because of family. I loved it and it gave me a lot of life experience. I think all young people should do one enlistment in the Military.

good luck, i hope you go to a real boot camp (not relaxin jackson!) and take care of yourself, pay attention to all they teach you in your training because you need to learn it to live it. always keep your head in the game and most importantly to be able to go far in the military always pay attention to detail. all you got to do is be in the right uniform at the right time. stay single and live it up too, you will meet the most incredible people in your life too. The people you meet in the service will be undoubtly the most interesting and cool people ever!

i think it's a damn shame you're joining a fine old organization that has been corrupted, destroyed, and is currently being used for foul, criminal, evil purposes. why on earth would anyone join up when our army is conducting an illegal war and committing war crimes, including TORTURE?????
my father was a career navy man and died broken hearted at what bush has done to this country and the military.

cassandra's answer is a perfect example of why liberal policy, campaigning, debate and talking points is hurting America in more ways than one.
