The obvious, which I'm sure you have already done, is to take a pain reliever. If you are slightly dehydrated, you will sometimes get migraines. I usually drink a lot of water and my headaches go away. I have also read articles about dehydration causing headaches. After 5 days of severe migraine ( I say this because a headache doesn't last 5 days), if water and a pain reliever doesn't help, I would go to the Dr. I wouldn't take risks for consideration of mini-stroke, tumors, etc. I hope you feel better soon.

I used to get those all time (and don't anymore) so when I had a migraine after 2 days I did several things....in this order....I brushed my teeth, took a leisurely bubble bath and soaked for a while in there to relax and washed my hair, I ate, tried to sleep, took a bayer aspirin, used a hypnosis relaxation tape. Most times it would go away by morning. I don't know whether it was caused by bright lights or by a back problem. If I figured that it had something to do with the back problem which pain then comes up the side of the neck and then affects the eyes and forehead, then I'd go for a realignment at the chiropractor (usually they would fit me in immediately) and within 24 hours (after the realignment pain would go away) I was back to normal.

Sometimes long headaches are from alergies like food, smog, etc. Figure out what you changed just before the headache started. Do you live in an apartment where someone's smoking is coming into your apartment? Do you need your ac filter changed, did you try a new soap, did you eat a new food, pr wear a new cologne (avon used to have a cologne I had samples of that in a storage box that gave me migraines), etc. You can put cold packs on your eyes and any part that hurts.

You may have a migraine, try using Excedrin Migraine. It usually works very well. And if you read the label of ingredients you will notice that it contains a lot of caffeine, which helps get rid of headaches. If this doesn't work go to your doctor. Headaches that seem to linger can be a pinched nerve in your neck and may need further treatment. Don't wait much longer if it persists. We're talking about your brain here.

This really works, get a hammer and smash your big toe with it.... It will totally take the focus away from your head and be on your toe, so you wont think of the head ache and it will go away... sure you wont be able to walk without limping but big deal, atleast your head ache will be gone!! LOL!! J/K Try tying a belt from a robe around your head tightly and lay down on your bed in the dark, when all else fails, this works for me and i am being serious, however this sounds more like a migraine then a head ache!!!! If it doesn't pass soon i would go to the doctors!! It could be something more then just stress or a head ache!! Good luck!!

Fill a bath with hot water, kneel down in the bath and place your head in the water and start to blow out of your nose. lift your head, take a deep breath and repeat for at least another six times. Then lie back and relax for 10 minutes.your headache should start to ease now and should be gone completely in the next half an hour.

Cut out anything with caffene (tea, coffee, pop, chocolate,...). Have your eyes tested. If you think it is tension, find the source of the tension and do something to change it. Drink lots of water. Do deep breathing exercises. By the way, sex relieves tension.
