Many people say chivalry is dead, and that many guys don't do that sweet stuff for girls anymore. Well my boyfriend still does and I find it sweet.

But we were talking and started wondering about the door thing.

When a couple comes across a double door building, and the guy pulls open the first set of doors for the girl, how is it possible for the guy to reach the second set of doors fast enough before the girl opens it?

Not saying I can't do it myself, but sometimes there are just things he wants to do to show some respect. Ultimately, however, I always open the second set for him! (I really don't mind though)

Maybe that's how it should be now in these modern days.

On the other hand, if you were the guy, how would you go about reaching the second set of doors?

:)

Hhhhmmmmmm. Good question. The best idea I have is I open the first door and hold it for her to walk through, then she opens the second door and I kind of hold the door open while she walks through

I've thought about this too, because I end up doing it with my fiance all the time.

I'll open the first door, which is most important. Then I'll follow right behind her through to the second door. At that point she'll move just a little bit over to the side, and I'll reach around her to get to the second door. Depending on how the door opens, the reach can be awkward. But most of the time the door to door transition is pretty smooth.

The woman should stop treating her man like a chauffer and open the second set of doors in that case. All that running back and forth to pull doors open is silly. I like to be polite, but I am no bootlicker. The same thing goes for that chivalrous nonsense of "never hitting a woman." Sometimes it is justified in self-defense, especially if the woman is vicous or the attack is unprovoked. It's such an unfair standard. Also, notice that if a man gets slapped or kicked (and that hurts like you wouldn't imagine too) over an insult or something stupid like that, people will often laugh. But the same thing does not happen if the roles are reversed. Good night!

GREAT QUESTION! I hate it when I open the 1st door and the woman opens the next one. I never say anything but I would love it if a woman would just slow down and wait for me. Chivalry ain't dead. At least not until I die.

I think by law, we are only required to open the first door...going for the second door is just awkward and could lead to accidental tramplings...

when you walk in the first door wait until he walks through it after you and then let him open the 2nd set of doors

I always yell, "Last one to open the second door is a rotten egg!" and just sprint for it.

Its simple you wait at the second set and allow the man to open it for you.

You should cooperate a little... pause to allow him to get the 2nd door.
