Is this saying that you don't have faith in God to protect you, or is it okay to wear crystals for their healing properties as God placed them on the earth? Please back up your statements with biblical reference, if you can.

Dave, I'm not really worried about offending someone so much as I'm worried about what's going to happen to my soul. As far as causing someone weak in their faith to stumble, it is worn under clothing, non-visible, and its not like I take it out and flash it around, or brag about how I'm being 'healed by a crystal.' It may to some be associated with the occult, but so are herbs, and many Christians drink herbal tea, for all I know, some may use herbal remedies. Hope that helps.

Christians do, as a rule, often wear crystals:
Diamonds, as a representation of love and fidelity.
Birthstones in jewelry (these do have mystical meanings and healing meanings as well)
As far as for healing, some preachers woud claim that they're part of "new age philosophy", and therefore demonic. The healing properties though, can at times be shown to predate the new age movement.
Many Christian preachers decry anything "alternative" or "new age", including accupuncture, Reiki, yoga, martial arts such as Tai Chi, and anything else that has a philosophy or spiritual aspect as non-christian. If you follow these Christian teachers, then you probably want to stay away from crystals.
On the other hand, much of what the "new agers" believe does have some basis in at least anecdotal if not empirical evidence. Part of the power of crystals comes in the belief that they are actually efficacious. Perhaps this is part placebo effect, but my opinion is that if a placebo works, then why should one bother with going to a doctor for a prescription. Certainly, a placebo won't have the dangerous side effects of allopathic medicine.
Crystals have a long tadition of helping people with certain properties. Amethyst has long been known as a stone to help people recover from addictions. It's so well known that there are many rehabilition places named after it.
If you're one that doesn't buy into the damning ramblings of hyper-conservative types, then use your crystals, and keep your faith in God, that he actually put them there.

I just read an article on this because my sister in law did not want my son to buy a crystal necklace from a vendor stating that this was of the devil. The article states that, crystals are okay if not used for healing, withcraft. Basically, don't worship the crystal. Its okay to wear them. That's all. There are crystals all over heaven, is what I picture, Roads are filled with gems. Hope this helps!

Please correct me if I am wrong, but aren't crystals associated with the occult and New Age Healing. If so, I think that the wearing of crystals might possibly offend some Christians. Even if you just wanted to wear the crystals because you think that they are beautiful, you still might offend some Christians and may even cause them to stumble into sin if they are weak in their faith. You can read the 14th Chapter of the Book of Romans to get a better idea of what I am talking about.. Dave.

I think many christians don't approve of wearing or using crystals because they associate it with pagan or other non-christian religions. There is nothing inherently wrong with wearing crystals; you can always tell people you think they are pretty if you don't want to offend.

BSG,
I think that if it becomes an object of worship, you can find yourself going in the wrong direction.
But if you think that they have healing properties, then maybe they do. I don't really know, but I've heard it before. I just think that crystals are pretty to look at, most of the time.
But as far as them having healing properties, I think Advil has healing properties, the property of decreased swelling of whatever hurts, and I take that instead of leaning on crystals for pain relief.

I know this might be a delayed question. But i am a christian, born and raised in a christian home. I studied Somatology and in this we learn to use crystals and color therapy as a form of alternative healing. i still am attracted to my stones, colors and oils. Is it wrong for me to use my knowledge and education just because i am a christian? My dad is a Minister and he let me go ahead with my degree. im confused, can anyone help me?

I wear crystals all the time, but then again my religion isn't Christianity. I don't ever recall meeting a Christian that wears them.
