Any answer I would give would be as an uninformed college student. Which automatically declares me a liberal, who hates George Bush.

This is highly to the contrary.

I am a Republican. Proud of it too. I'm into a good moral system. I am also into supporting our President. This seems to put me into a minority at college, but hey, the "Hate Bush" bandwagon didn't look good enough to jump onto.

As to ending the war? If there is a true end to the war, it will be one of the first in the region. True peace is not only the absence of conflict but the presence of justice (Air Force One).

Since justice does not exist quite yet on its own, I would say that the Iraqi war will be over when the rebuilding of the nation is complete. When the Iraqi police forces and adequately patrol and enforce their own laws, and their economy can effectively stand on its own. Right now, Iraq is much like a ship under construction. It is getting its own power plant rebuilt, but is still receiving shore power from the dock.

Once the nation is ready, it must be strong enough to stand on its own. Only then, will the "war" be over.

If it were me, I would slowly decrease the number of troops there and pull them out. Obviously if they haven't reached some kind of peace after all this time then their country isn't ready for a 'forced' democracy. They have been that way for thousands of years. But Bush isn't going to stop it that's for sure! This will probably still be going until 2008 elections. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he doubled the troops there in coming months just for his ego. It's sad really but there isn' much we can do about it. My husband is in the Army and I just hope and pray that his number won't be called to Iraq because it's a very bad place. If anything I pray he'll be sent to Iran or Afghanistan where there is less fighting.

well, I wish we could wave a magic wand and say "play nice" but, I think that this is going to get uglier, my prediction is that the Arab world will try and hold the world nuclear hostage, or let a nuke go somewhere in a densely populated U.S. city, the U.S is just going to "DO 'EM" when that happens, then everyone will say "That was easy, what were we waiting for", I think that the world is closest to total dist ruction than it ever was before, in the cold war. I don't think we'll see another 20 years, too much free plutonium floating around unaccounted for.

Americans and Brits should leave after neutral countries help restore order. The war was not endorsed by the U.N. and the outside forces that help maintain order should not be in conflict of interest such as those who may want control of oil supplies or are closely linked with their enemies such as Israel.

Why dont we send South Park over there they seem to think comedy is the answer to everything,They could make fun of all the great people that died because we should all apperently have a sense of humour.Sorry thats whats wrong with this world we dont respect anyone or anything and trash like that on TV only incites more hate and prejudice.

the different factions in the middle east have been fighting each other for thousands of years. neither the USA nor any other entity on the face of the earth will ever be able to stop them. if the people of a particular country do not like the powers that be in that country, they and not someone else should solve that problem. it should not be the concern of the united states to interfere in their domestic disputes. george washington, in his farewell address to the nation warned against this very thing. ( the wisest thing any president has ever said.)
therefore, it is my humble opinion that we should withdraw our troops from that region of the world and put whatever portion of them that is needed on our borders (both borders), and thus provide greater security for our nation. this action would result in billions upon billions of dollars saved, not to mention the number of american lives, and we could put that money to better use for our country.
in a nutshell, we should get the hell out.......yesterday.

Depends on your objectives. A nuke would end things quickly, but would probably not be the best solution.

Maybe if Jesus and Muhammad showed up, they could work things out and we could all just get along. I guess they thought leaving us with their teachings would do the trick, but it's just gotten mucky, hasn't it?

The best way to put an end to the Iraq war is to continue to help and advise their leaders, work harder to train and help their military, support them and ALL of what we're trying to do; so we can eventually bring our soldiers home. That's what Bush means. "Til the job is done," in case no one understood what he was saying.

Kill all the bad people. By bad people, I mean the people who strap bombs onto kids' bicycles and send them into the crowd. Or people who fire at soldiers from a crowd. For whatever reason, war has become vary politically correct, and we're not allowed to just kill the bad people.
