i try to impress people most of the time. Why? I dont really know, but i guess i just want to leave them a good impression bout me. U never know what might happen. A friend's friend's acquintance could end up being your boss or the person u are trying 2 get 2 date with. But most important thing, i tried to do the best of everything and be nice to everyone so people belive in me and can rely on me.. and i believe it will help to bring me into a better position (whether in friendship, social life, and especially work matter).

When you are young you do this. When you are old you don't care. You say "Take me as I am. I am pretty great, and I don't have to prove it to anyone." So basically what I am saying is once you know yourself and have come to like yourself you know that the only opinion that really matters is your own. You don't try to be what you are not, or what someone else wants you to be. That is not to say that you don't change because you want to. We improve the things we want to improve and might listen to what others think. But there is no need to impress anyone.

Yes in many occasions I fell into that cycle of trying to impress people. I guess it was a lame attempt to lure people into liking me... Then when I realized it, I found myself feeling ridiculous and sort of backed off. I have learned that people will like others on their own terms. One doesn't need to impress, since it may give out the wrong impression instead of who you really are. We all care about what others may think of us. It is just a basic instinct to have the need of being part of a group. It is in our DNA to be in the company of other people and attempting to impress them is a byproduct of that need.

I used to try to impress others. When I was 25 someone told me that the day you turn 30 you don't try to impress others anymore, I thought it was garbage. but sure enough my 30th came along, and I didn't care what others thought anymore....I guess it is because I am comfortable with myself, and have a good self esteem, so I don't need to compare myself against others.

Yes, I try to impress people every which way I can, whether it's Yahoo points, grades, you name it, because my life evolves around being told how great I am. And when me and Cyrus have kids named Tyrus (like the other guy who answered) and Miress, we can only hope they try to impress people as do their parents.

I try to impress the supervisors at work because then I might get easier shifts or win the staff awards they've started to boost morale. I don't normally try to impress people, I figure they either like me or they don't.

Yes. If I don't want to impress people I would be dressed in my house dress when I go out. I would not be having make-up on and I would be wearing flip flops.

Yes, I try to impress my friends about my Yahoo points. And ironically, my name rhymes with that of the person who said NEVER, who has the name me and Iris plan to give our son (Miress if it's a girl).

Not anymore. Too old. Been there, done that. My social life is more than adequate and my work speaks for itself. Guess it's a function of my having done everything there is to do in life. When I was a boy I was a real suck up. It got me nowhere.
