now he is older, about 67 yrs. old and i want to live with him to get to know him better since he almost died a few times, but i struggle to make good money since i did not go to college. How do I make good money in a short time so i can buy a house for us to live in?

That's a tough one....
I can't think of anything that you can do in that short amount of time to get money. You could try to get a loan, but you'd be in debt for the rest of your life.

If you're a hard worker and don't mind busting your ***. Try getting a job on an offshore rig. That will pay you big money quick. Or you can try getting a job in say texas or oklahoma. You need no degree, just guts. They are always hiring so call around or look online for aps.

where are you two living now?
you can make good money quickly by robbing places or by selling drugs. that is the only short cut out there, but i don't suggest it.

get a loan of try onr of those "get rick quick" schemes....its a chance, but if its worth it....
