i'm pretty sure the guy is somewhat interested. i know he's not asking me out because he's not sure how i feel. i don't want him to know i like him but i want him to ask me out. how to go about it?

When I was young I was VERY SHY, pathologically shy. I hope your guy is not like me at all.
General rules:
(1) Eye contact is the first sign of social interest.
(2) Smile. That is the next sign that you give -- positive social interest.
(3) If he is either not interested at all or so pathlogically shy, you have to verbalize and take the initiative. First reinforce your positive feelings. "I think you are really nice." Then the proposal. "Should we have lunch sometimes? " Be precise. "How about tomorrow?"

P.S. -- I agree with btnspiece: you are being too complicated. That will just complicate your life. You wrote " I don't want him to know I like him." Why not? People like honest people. Don't you? Be an honest person. Don't be afraid of yourself.

I have a question why wouldnt you want him to know like him?? Kinda silly hun when You do like enough to have him ask you out. Why the game ? You can be open and honest with him, and still make him court you like he should. I think most guys will tell you they apperciate the openess. And who know what you might be missing only really one whay to find out! Go for it Hun! Worse case it doesnt work out but you knew you tried and will have the courage to do it again. Not every guy you go out will be the "one" But if you wait to long the "one" may slip by! Good Luck Hun!

Pull him aside so you're talking one on one. Start telling him about this guy you like. Describe some of his personality traits, some stuff about how he looks. Really play this "guy" up to be the most amazing person of all time. Then ask if he wants to see a picture. He probably will want to just out of curiosity, but don't give him a chance to turn you down. Hand him a small mirror, let him see himself, then when he looks back at you, smile and walk away.

Keep in contact with him. Don't push him away, eventually he'll start to like you even more, and the rest should take care of itself. If he's not smart enough to know you're interested in him, you may have to drop some sort of subtle hint like, "If a guy ever asked me out on a date, I'd want to....." something like that.

Just talk to him a lot flirt and kind of make it obvious you want to get to know him but don't come out and say you like him just in case he doesn't ask you out you want be embarrassed but just flirt a lot and talk to him like your just tryin to get to know him then that will break the ice and he can feel relaxed to ask you.

Ask when what is taking him so long to ask you out. Or ask him out. I once had a girl tell me that she when and where she'd be on a Friday night "just incase you decide you want to ask me out."

If you think he's interested, you're gonna have to let him know that you like him. If he won't know that you like him, he might never ask you out. if you don't want him to know that you like him, then you can just forget about him.
