Given the Mayan's extensive knowledge of astrology, do you find the Mayan calander and its future end date of 2012 to be credible whether regarding a physical ending or metaphoric ending?

Do you have any information to further my inquisition?

The Mayan calendar doesn't end on 12-21-2012. The 12th Baktun is ending. (A baktun is about 396 years long). 13 was a sacred number to the Maya and some have misunderstood the meaning of the 13.00.00.00.00 date on their calendar, thinking it mean "end" when it means "new beginning." Metaphorical, as you put it.
I have lots of information on the Mayan and Aztec calendars on my web sites and blogs and I'm always happy to answer any questions.

It is worth the inquiry; just on television tonight I saw something that says there is a Bibical code that also says that the world will end in 2012, also another way to look at it is that the Earth must "replenish" herself of all the damage humans have done to go into a new "state". Since humans are causing the earth the most damage we must be eliminated

I have also heard that the calanders found in Egyptian tombs and the Aztec calanders also ended in the year 2012.

December 21, 2012, they selected.

End of the world scenarios have been around forever.

We're still here.

The mayans are no more or less credible than anyone else

Nope. People thought the Antichrist would come on 6/6/06 too. Go figure. Same thing.

You must have thought the answer was yes, otherwise you would not have inquired.
