I want a minimal tattoo when I turn 18... some special words on my forearm. Maybe a tattoo on the inside of my lip. :)

I personally think that it takes away alot of the woman for having a tattoo that shows. I have one but it's in a place where people just can't see it.
You can certainly get a tattoo on your forearm if that's totally you and if you know for a fact that as years go by you won't regret getting it. Remember that once you have it, it's there and there's no turning back, unless you have the money to get the laser removal treatment.

Think about it... seriously

Remember, if you're getting a tattoo on your arm or another part of your body that is normally exposed, think about if it might be a problem to cover up at work, if you're going to be around the public, etc., because there's nothing worse than getting a tattoo and then realizing that ur company has a strict no-tattoo exposure policy, and then finding out that u cant cover it. If you want special words, maybe get them around your ankle like an anklet or around your wrist, so that they're still there, but they aren't so out in the open.
Im all for getting tattoos, and ive got a list of meaningful things that im looking forward to getting as soon as i turn 18. The Chinese characters for peace, honor, hope, dignity, love, patience, honesty, courage, strength, unity and balance all in one chain around my ankle is #1, along with several Celtic protection symbols and a Buddhist eternal-love knot with my mother's, brother's and my names all intertwined are up there too.
Again, I say take caution and make sure it isn't something from a phase. I was told to draw the tattoos on myself for a year, and if, at the end of the year, i was sick of the tattoo, then it isn't worth getting, but if it still has meaning to me then get it permanently.

Things to remember about tattoos.
1. They are permanent. What you think is cool today, may not be tomorrow. I have tattoo that I put on 30+ years ago. But I have found it to be a detriment when I need to impress someone. Like in job interview.
2. As you get older, things begin to sag. when you get pregnant or fatter, things distort. That cute little tat may become a stretch mark riddled grotesque mess.
3.You are letting someone poke needles into your body. And the question is, Can I Trust Them? Do they sterilize there needles? I would not want used needles used on me.

I would advise against it. But, at 18 it is your body to do with as you choose. I would advise you to put it out of site. But remember, the person that sees it will tell the whole world what it is,and where it is. Good luck with your decision.

Well that's a good idea to have tattoo, but as the others said that too make sure to get your tattoo somewhere that you can hide it when you have to. Having a small tattoo on your back, shoulder, or leg is nice. I personally do not like most of females' tattoo on their arm. But think about it long enough and make a decision, if you still want it go for it. good luck.

I would advise against the tattoo on the lip. But other than that, there's not a problem with getting a tattoo (have 2 myself). Just be sure that whatever you get, it means something to you and you won't mind having/looking at it years from now.

Everyone has a different opinion on whether or not to get one.. If in your area.. i would start checking out sites and when they have a social gathering. They just had one here at the expose center. It was really great. They do not recomment you get it inside you lips for dental as well as gum disease.

I would suggest you know exactly what you want when you do it, because once its one its one permantly and if you do remove it you will have a scar from it.

Just make sure its what you want.

I did not get one this time. I'm very picky and i was watching the aritist on how they were doing and how they were cleaning the tattoos. Only about one of the 100 I saw was good. All his stuff was all freehand and it was beautiful.

Did you know that a tattoo on a woman is now called a tramp stamp !!Before you get one try to imagine what it will look like in 20 years when you start to get wrinkles . That cute little butterfly on the small of your back looking as big as Mothra . That cute little rose on your breast looking like a long stemmed rose because of connective tissue failure . Just a couple of things for you to think about !!

one or two is good. I have a butterfly on my shoulder blade and a design on my lower back.
Nothing to big. And get it in a place that can be covered up easily most employers do not like employees tattoos to show.
