Hey jess I know you meant scratch not starch, at least I hope thats what you meant because then your cat would be drooling for 2 different reasons. Your cat is drooling because it is very content and probably half asleep. If you didn't care what anyone thought you would probably drool too if your favorite person gave you a head massage.

If you find out let me know !!!! For real !! Cause my Male cat has always done this too !! He was my daughter cat when she was younger and at home, and she use tell me that he would get her wet all the time !! He would get around her neck and drool !! She'd wake up with wet hair from him !! When i pet him he does it too ! I think he just likes the petting and that is just his ways!! Every cat is different ,my other cat doesn't drool !! I guess some do and some don't !! I don't like it much either !! cause he gets my clothes wet when i pet him !!! ANd thats not all he does, he will also bite you sometime, for no reason !! Its like he doesn't mean too ,cause he likes the petting but all of a sudden he strikes you !!! He has scratched and biten me for no reason, so i tell kids not to pet him, and he is not mean, really!!! weird!! you just gotta know your cat!!

I knew cat that did that, But it had gigantic balls so I was always wondering if it was a horny cat cuz it got way to into the scratching. It would start meowing, and rubbing all over you, long drops of drool would fall to the ground, it would start biting you, it was kinda disturbing.

She's drooling because she's totally zoned out. One of my cats drooled every time she got around catnip. She would look like she had rabies because all this drool was coming out of her mouth. She was just high from the catnip.

When we sleep we drool, we drool because our muscles relax and allow that to happen. When you scratch (yes I know it's not starch) your kitties head she likes it, she relaxes and so do her muscles. She ends up drooling but it is from sheer delight. Lucky kitty, she must be very trusting in her relationship with you to allow herself to be that off guard.

She could just really like it or it could make her nervous. I know when cats come to me at the vet, a lot of times they drool like that.

Some cats just drool when they are happy... kinda like how a dog wags it's tail. I think it's cute... my childhood cat did it and she was so dignified otherwise that it was really sweet.
