Ok.... My Bad.... I meant put your faith in the "Lord"/God/Religion etc before your family (not the faith in your family, just put all of this before your family. i.e Jesus comes first, then family)

Im sorry... but this is my opinion, im entitled to it, just as you are to your, but, those who would put a person, who could in fact be fictional, before their family dont deserve to have children. Anyone that can put written word (the bible) before their new born is just wrong in their head. Sorry... just my opinion.... Oh yeah... Forgive me!!!

Family comes first. Period.
Now, if my family doesn't care for what I put my faith in, that's one thing. I won't just change myself because of how someone else feels about it, even if they are family. But that's something different entirely.
Are you asking if you would denounce your own faith to save a family member?

I met with Jesus so for starters I know He's real and not some fictional character, I was a very strong willed independent woman when I came to know Jesus and nobody could have told me he was real (a few had tried and I had rejected it, but when I met Him for myself, I believed.)
Yes I put God before my family, but God loves my children far more than I do, and he wants the best for them. Placing them in His hands and following His instructions on how to raise them to be decent human beings is the best thing I can do for them. It's an act of love to release your children to someone who can look after them better than me. I don't own my kids, they are a gift from heaven, and one day I'll be gone and they'll still have God in their lives. How is this wrong? If you are closed minded enough to come from the point of view that 'there is no god therefore it's wrong to put him first' then you will never understand. I know there is a God and that he is to be trusted (I've been through a lot and he's made it better every time) so I am in a position to say that your standpoint is in error, not mine.

I will put my faith in my religion before my children/family.
Why?
Firstly, what does it take to give my children and family the best?
To me, it's religion. Better still, it's God's grace and love.
I recall this phrase:
"Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will fall into place"
I recall the story of Job.
I recall Christ's words " Those who do not hate his father and mother is not fit to follow me"
And yet the same Christ suffered, sacrifice and died for us.
The religion that Christ left behind made many men and women free. Many would sacrifice themselves to protect their family and love ones. Many learned to love just as Christ loves.
Children and family experiences the kind of selfless love that we would not have known of should there be no religion in the first place.
Furthermore, to put the family as the core is weak because people are ever changing.
But principles and values that religion teaches are unchanging. If foundations are build on this principles and from there act upon it to love, cherish and to protect family and children.... I think this is the way it should be.

As religion is about teaching one to get along with his fellows in a more ethical and loving way, I would rather think that the two go hand in hand. One is not above the other, as the purpose of religion is to better human relations via addressing the spiritual nature of man.

I put my faith in God first, because I can trust Him with my family and friends. He can deal with things I cannot. I cannot show my love for God unless I show my love for family and friends. You cannot serve a loving God without loving other people, especially those closest.

I don't trust in a religion. I trust in the one, perfect, person. The one who lived over 2000 years ago. He healed many people. He died a very painful death. Then, three days later, he rose again. Then he whas sen by hundreds of people at once, before he rose to Heavan. He is alive today.

No, unless my children/family all followed the faith as much as i did: in which case it'd be a way of life anyway.

As a Christian my faith promotes family! We are to put Christ first, then family ,but it works well if you follow the Bible.

I would put my faith in my GOD before my children and family because if I trust Him He will show me what is best for me and for my family. He will protect me and them as well.
If you have a problem with your computer and you can go directly to the maker of that computer would you ask Him how to fix it or would you ask the computer?

If God is in control, nothing is out of control. Faith in Christ first and there is nothing that you cannot overcome when dealing with family. Not to say that there are not problems far from it but Christ give you the wisdom, knowledge, and patience to confront all issues.
