Strong, well-balanced, emotionally stable people have learned and know how to live their lives fully without the need for drug or alcohol enhancement. They are happy with who they are and have the ability to handle life's problems and difficulties on their own without substance abuse. I think it's a conscious and commendable choice. But I also think that some people are predispositioned for drug and alcohol use. It's a disease and some individuals need help to overcome it.

There are a few people who are not haunted by situations of the past. Therefor they don't have the need to find a crutch to make them feel better.

I don't use it because it makes me sick, plus I have epilepsy and I can't mix my meds with alchohol
