And they could theoretically eventually be used to regenerate limbs or organs... creepy thought if you ask me!

Nanotechnology is a catch-all phrase for materials and devices that operate at the nanoscale. In the metric system of measurement, “Nano” equals a billionth and therefore a nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. References to nano materials, nanoelectronics, nano devices and nanopowders simply mean the material or activity can be measured in nanometers. To appreciate the size, a human red blood cell is over 2,000 nanometers long, virtually outside the nanoscale range!

You are talking about all the little things that you can do on the nano scale. Which is 1 x 10^-9 meters or smaller. Problems include not only making working parts that are that small, but taking advantage of the different physics at that level.

Nano as you propaply read it above equals 10 to the power of -9
Nanotechnology , is to make devics of the size of the nano , and that's only made by polymers ..
Ploymers is very elastic material , it's affected by mean of electric or magnetic field ..

little tiny robotic machines that can be ooperated or be pre- programmed with a set of instructions, there even smaller then blood cells!! they can be used for such tasks as operation, building of something that uses smaller components or even the clean up of hazardous wastes!!
