My dog is a chihuahua cross jack russell. She is quite old already, but definitely less than 10 years old.She is one active dog and knows how to pray when she wants us to give her something-for example, when we bring her down, she usually will pray and whenever we give her treats, she would pray as well!

But,recently, like yesteday night, she started to tremble, and she is acting like a very timid dog.She did not pray anymore even when we wanted to bring her down or give her treats.Even worse, she would not even want to eat her favourite treats! When i cuddle her to sleep, she is still trembling.

I need help. What has happened to my dog?

Honey, get the dog to a vet, or at least call one.

Either there is something physically wrong with your dog or sometthing or someone has really scared her very badly. It could be she is ill(could be anything and why she needs immediate attention from a VET) and when you were expecting her to pray acted timid for she couldn't or acating timid for really scared but either one she really needs to go to a Vet. Anytime your pet acts very different from her usual behaviour its time to have her checked by the VET,its what I do for if ill the sooner pet gets treatment/medicine the better /shorter the recovery and if nothing physical then what a relief. Since the animal cannot talk the Vet is always the best thing to . Hopefully soon your dog will do the prayer thing again . Have no idea what you mean by bringing her down unless you mean calm her down-I hope its nothing rough but gently for just a bit too rough although not intentional can scare the dog and when the situation comes up again-like you wanting her to pray-the memory will have her too scared.Wish you the and your dog the best

MY BEST ADVISE,GET HER TO THE VET ASAP !!!! 24 HOUR IF NEED BE !! It almost sounds like someone abused her or hurt her in some way or....maybe she got into some ANTI-FREEZE or something else very dangerous ? Is there someone new staying at your house or could someone have gotten at her to hurt her ?Maybe a child kicked her really hard or something? Could she have injured herself in some way, like falling down some steps or something like that? Maybe she has some bad pain that is making her so scared. It really sounds to me like she was MAJORLY TRAUMATIZED in some way . If she still trembles in your arms as she's falling to sleep, there is MOST DEFINITELY SOMETHING MAJORLY WRONG !! REALLY,MY BEST ADVICE IS STILL GET HER TO THE VET,ESPECIALLY IF YOU RULE OUT ABUSE AS A POSSIBILITY !! I'll pray for you BOTH to get through the night safe and sound and also pray for her quick recovery !! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH !! Very Sincerely,Pam.

Dogs will refuse to eat when they are either sick or in some sort of pain. And if she is an active dog and has suddenly stoped being active? Then you need to get her to the vet because something is wrong.

Did something/someone scare or traumatize her? If not, she could be experiencing seizures...like epilepsy, which is very common in small breed dogs. Take her to the vet...this can be treated with daily medication and she will live a full and happy life

The best thing you can do for your dog is to get her to the vet. Anytime a dog changes its behavior and begins to refuse food, you MUST have her checked by a vet. There may very well be a medical reason for her behavior.

Take the baby to a vet! Refusing food is usually a sign of illness or injury.

Of course have her vet checked immediately. Rapid changes in habits indicate medical problems. Often trembling, and licking "the air", is a sign that she is in pain. CHECK IT OUT NOW.

Bring her down? From where? Trembling is often a pain response. I think you need to get her to the vet so he can get to the bottom of it.
