Find someone that knows how to brand with a Violet Wand. It can be done so that only the top few layers of skin are burned. You can see if you like it, how well you heal and such. If you don't like it, just let it heal, use some shea butter and the mark fades to almost non-existant.
Of course this is something that needs to be well thought out, no matter what kind of branding method you use. Sterile environment, steril equipment, and TLC during the healing process all are necessary.
Oh, and it IS painful......but then again.....some pain can provide quite a pleasurable high! ~wink~

They brand people just like they brand cattle. By the use of hot implements. And they burn the top layers of skin off completely.
It is very easy to get an infection from branding. Also, there is no guarantee that you won't go into shock from the intense pain. And shock CAN kill.
Is it a religious thing, that you would want to get a cross branded onto your arm? If so, I can tell you that there are very few religious establishments that wouldn't look at you as a freak for having it done.
Or maybe it's an anti-religious thing?
Just remember that 10 years down the road, you may have outgrown the anger that is currently inside of you. Would the person you want to be 15 years from now, be embarrassed by having that brand on his arm? It is hard enough getting a tattoo removed. The ONLY way to remove a branding is to have a skin graft done.
I know a woman who is halfway through the very drawn out and painful process of having her tribal markings removed from her face. When she was 20 she was very into the alternate lifestyle, and individuality, and primitivism. She had a series of small cuts made on her forehead and around her eyes that abrasives were rubbed into to cause irritation and scarring. She wore her "primitive art" quite proudly for the five years she was a part of that particular downtown scene. But she met a man that she fell in love with. They had a kid together and then they married. By the time she was pregnant the second time, and her husband had taken a "straight" job as an electrician to pay for his family's upkeep, she was quite embarrassed by her youthful folly. Two years ago she started having the tribal markings surgically removed. Because of their placement, the work has to be done in three stages, and then a final cosmetic procedure to get rid of any scarring to finish up. She is finished with the second stage of removal, and complains bitterly of her "youthful stupidity" because of the cost. She expects it to top out at over $10,000 in total before everything is done. And that is if there are no complications.

Strike branding is done with either straight or curved blanks which are heated up and then struck (thus strike branding) against the skin and held there whilst the skin is opened and then cauterized from the heat.
Cautery branding is done one of two ways. With a cautery gun (expensive as hell to get) or a pen (cheaper). I have one cautery pen branding on my left shoulder and it was definitely different. The fact that there's no blood is odd and very unsettling. The skin smell is porcine in nature. It's a Hawaiian luau with you on the spit (so to say).

I cant find the story of what happened to a woman who was branded by someone who didnt know what they were doing. But i can tell you what i remember. It burned through her muscle. On her thigh. The rod was glowing hot like they do for cattle. This is way too intense for human flesh.
If you do it you had better find a professional and get references.

don't want to see that done to a cow. never the less a person. maybe you should consider getting a tattoo. at least that can be removed if you turn fifty and began to hate it.
