Is he fitting out like an epileptic or just being a spoilt brat?

Is there too much sugar in his diet?

Trouble at home?

Does he get enough attention / discipline?

Maybe he just needs a good slap around back to teach him a lesson... or time out...or take away priveledges / T.V. computer games etc...!

If it is a medical condition... (ADHD..Autism... Epilepsy)
then I guess during and episode you will just have to find a way of restraining him (putting your arms aound him or straight jacket.. or a rug even..) and so he doesn't continue to hurt himself and those around him.....

This is all I can offer depending on the cause...

You do need to think of children as training dogs, they will soon learn what is acceptable and not as long as you somehow show them good behaviour is rewarded and bad is not... just get everyone away from him and ignore him even...

as you said it is a mental problem... but even mentally retarded people can be taught correct social behaviour.

Take him to a medical doctor so that he can rule out any cause that may be physical rather than mental. If possible video tape some of his episodes. But be careful that he doesn't hurt you or someone else. Once the M.D. rules out physical problems, ask for a referral to a behavioral health counselor that works with children and adolescents. If money or insurance is a problem, many agencies work with the state for little or no cost to the family. You need professional help to intervene with this problem. Keep a log of when these incidents happened and what caused him to become violent. Also how long it took to calm him down, what helped and what you have done that did not help. This will help both the doctor and the counselor.

I hope you're not looking for a diagnosis via the internet.

There are many possible causes of this. He could have an anger management problem. Or it could be a sickness ranging from food allergies to dissociative identity disorder to multiple personality disorder to bipolar. It could be biological or psychological. Have you asked him why?

I'd suggest that you take him to a doctor...fast. He may wind up in jail or with a criminal record if this continues, especially since he's an adult. If he is a danger to himself or others, then he can be picked up and confined to a psychiatric facility. But before that, he might get hurt as others try to defend themselves.

How old is he? Is he an adult? There are certain brain disorders that cause anger problems. Bipolar and ADD can. It depends on what area of the brain is affected. He probably should see a doctor or mental health professional.

he needs councelling as soon as possible before he hurts himself or someone around him...you love him--help him --go to your parents--a school councellor--a friend--please---once on the right medication he will most likely be fine--they need to figure out what triggers this violence and anxiety---good luck....
