Very good question and I've been trying to find an answer for that for years. I've been an American citizen all my life and I always had to fight for everything I needed; while others had it handed to them; who couldn't even speak English. They get it because they have no job skills and cannot speak English. Even though I was having numerous health problems, they looked at my record and knew I had job experience so I was told to find a "less strenuous" job. I don't even want to go into it all, but I'm still fighting for medical care.

People who are illegal do not get benefits,at least not in this State. If there is a State in the U.S. giving benefits to illegals, I sure would like to know which one that is. Keep in mind in soeone is illegal and they give birth to a child here, the only person that could possibly be entitled to any welfare/assitance would be the child, and that surely isn't much. What, some milk, ceral and government cheese. There are plently of homeless that have the capacity to work and choose not to, just as many as there are tha make the effort and do not succeed. It's all a matter of getting up off your behind and going to your resources and motivating yourself and making the effort to move forward. Most people at some point in their lives all need help, regardless of their status or their color. Love thy neighbor and don't be so quick to point or judge

They also have their kids in our schools and use our roads every day.

They also would not have to participate if a draft was called and are not immunized as children like most of us are. So they could be carrying evolved versions of deadly diseases that we are vaccinated for, but the vaccinations may not work on evolved versions of the diseases.

They get these benefits by working under the table and not reporting it. If a citizen does this, that is a crime that may include jail time.

People ignore homeless citizens because they assume they are lazy. But think about it, it can basically happen to anyone in given circumstances.

You can't tell any of this to the supporters of the illegals, they simply won't listen.

You know illegals on welfare? I'd like to meet them. Illegals aren't eligible for welfare.

The hungry and homeless have always been among us. Long before the first illegal decided to cross the border.

How are the illegals taking advantage of the tax payers? I know many illegals who ARE tax payers and they will never see one red cent of the money back in the way of welfare, medicaid, medicare, unemployment or social security. Does that seem more fair to you?

My personal view is that the government should stay out of the homeless and the poor and allow non-profits to help them. Also, if you are poor enough, Medicare kicks in for the emergency medical.

The real question, is why do so many Americans either legal or illegal not take care of their basic needs prior to taking care of luxuries. When I was going to college and semi-employed at misc jobs I was paying over $100 a month for health insurance. I did not have cable and did my darndest to survive with minimal help from others.

The second part of this is when will we go back to the early days when people worked hard for themselves or for a company?

How can an illegal immigrant recieve welfare or free medical insurance? In order to get those things you have to register with a valid social security number don't you? I've yet to see one source on these allegations. Now I know many hospitals won't turn away patients that don't have health insurance, but this is across the board, it applies to americans as well.

any hungry Americans have way more rights to benefits, welfare or governemnt help than illegals do, so if they are for some reason starving, then they just havent gone to the right authorities for help, you make it sound like people or tax payers just choose to give it to illegals, or Americans get turned away

C'mon now!!!!

why are we spending $2 Billion every day in Iraq? why is New Orleans still a sh^t hole over a yr after Katrina? why is Ground Zero still a hole in the ground? cause the current administration is more concerned about themselves and their rich friends to care about innocent people dying everyday, about the homeless/jobless that can't even count on govt assistance to help them out

immigrants are not taking advantage of taxpayers - most of them actually pay taxes themselves, if they have health insurance it's cause they're paying for it (never heard of anyone that got health insurance for free) so stop with the ranting and raving about these decent hard-working people doing all they can to survive, we're all human, we all deserve the best life has to offer, and a border is just an imaginary line
