Yes, terribly! But on the other hand it's scary to think that this could be the language of our future generations thanks to the internet.

I'd be a hypocrite if I said I was annoyed at them for speaking like that. It's a bit hard to refrain from saying things like that when I'm speaking.

But when I'm typing on the computer, I always try to type out complete sentences. It's rather distressing that the majority of teenagers these days write that way -- it's like they couldn't be bothered to fully type words out.

Yes! I hope that it's affectation, and not how they talk all the time.

And I'm afraid that these are the people who will be taking care of me in the nursing home when I get old, and give me the wrong meds. I hate to say it, but this ghetto talk sounds coarse and ignorant, not hip.

Depends on what the scenery is. If those persons are wishing to openly express themselves in a personalized artistic fashion then what is the issue? I cant stand country music but there seems to be an industry for it.

No, not at all.

Though I'd like to point out that those words are not exclusively "Hip hop" (whatever that may be). These words are widely used in other American and Canadian dialects.

i simply do not answer them. if people cannot make an attempt to communicate in a normal manner with the rest of the world than they probally do not have anything that is really worth me hearing.

of course the fact that they are starting to teach this crap in schools does not help much.

I am annoyed by that also. I am sick of ebonics and the hip-hop culture.
