probably a dental issue. Have their teeth cleaned at least once every couple of years --- more dry food to clean the tarter at bay.
Assuming cat is healthy otherwise --- if not, could be a digestive issue, food is not moving through and digesting properly, sending nasty gases back up the esophagus.
The tarter control treats are also good, if she will eat them.

my cats breath still stinks (only when u smell it up close) and she only eats dry food. Dry food couldn't hurt and may be better for your cat too but will not eliminate all "stink breath." try the cat mints like the first person said.

If your cat has bad breath it can mean tartor build up. It can also mean that your cat has an infection in a tooth or teeth. Have a vet check it out to be sure.

I don't know if it was the cause but every time I had my cat got bad breath and went to the vet. he had tapeworms. He was always sneaking around people's legs and getting fleas.

Look at your cat's teeth and gums. Are her teeth clean and white, or covered in tarter buildup. Are her gums pink, firm and healthy looking, or red swollen and sore looking. Maybe she needs a good dental cleaning.
