David Koresh was a devil---that much is for sure. But Janet Reno is the one at fault here---they should've thrown Janet Reno in the fire that consumed all the buildings at the Branch Davidian Compound.

The Branch Dividian Church, it is said (and there is a lot of nay sayers out there, especially in organized, modern religions) was founded on Seventh Day Adventists principlaes in about 1850 (the Seventh Day Adventists explictly distance themselves from the BD movement today). The founder, an older man, was "said" to have told people God said he could have 150 wives and he "supposedly" married both a 12 year old girl and a 14 year old girl.

David Koresh, not his real name, a high school drop out, moved originally to Los Angeles where he attempted to break into the Rock music scene as a guitarist. He left LA and moved to Waco TX and moved in with the 60 year old women heading the BD movement there.

It was said, after she died, a violent Coup was made by Koresh against others who had been with the movement longer who took after she died and there was either assault or possibly murder and Koresh was tried, but the case was either with a hung jury or dissmissed on a technicality, I think it was lack of evidence on the Goverment's part.

Koresh, it was said, then married a 14 year old girl (as far as I know, that's not legal in Texas, 16 is the youngest age for marriage according to state laws) He was late 20s or early 30s at the time.

There were concerns over the welfare of the children at the compound.

They were also suspect of hording weapons, includig weapons generally considered "illegal" for anyone other than the government to possess.

Janet Reno ordered the FBI to serve a warrant on them and the shooting started.

When they were finished most of the clan were dead.

The BD church, it should be noted, was very small. One public statistic I saw said 83 total members.

They were Apocoplytians, heavily into the end of times, as so many modern Christian Religions were, and the war between good and evil. Armegeddon.

I guess we now have to face two possible and horrible scenarios and make up our minds as to which was better or worse.

Is it better to leave a situation where child abuse, brainwashing and possibly pedophilia is taking place, but yet the children are alive, but not may be living very well.

Or

Is it better that the worst happens and they are now dead and no longer being "theoretically" abused?

We also have to ask ourselves, when a Church or Religious organization has something they deseperately WANT TO or HAVE TO HIDE. When they are not open and forthright, does Government have a right to break in and search the place.

Remember, Islamic Terrorists often hide weapons in Mosques in the Middle East and they may start doing this in America or England or France. They may store bombs, even nukes.

Does government Have NO RIGHT to enter and look for contraband in a Church, Synnagoge or Mosque?

To my way of thinking a Churchs door should be open to all, anytime and no Church so fear authorities in a free society coming inside to look for things.

Currently in NY two Muslims were arrested and charged with using the Mosque for teaching violence and for having terrroist affiliations.

We have to make up our minds and live with it. If searching religious places is off limits, don't ever talk about those places as hiding zones for terrorists, weapons and pedophila.

Remember the Catholic Church is facing pediphila charges that took place, in some instances, at the Church of the Priests room at the Church area.

If that's off limits, then we can't search for "dirty pictures" "e-mails" etc.

We can't search for weapons.

For minor children held against their will or preyed upon.

Everyone has to decide on these issues and they must apply to all equalliy.

The BD, by the way, is being reactivated and re-build. Texas radio personality and political activist Alex Jones even participated in the rebuilding effort.

Many modern Churchs point to the occurances at the BD and at Okalahoma City as government intrusion into Religion and teach their flocks this is EVIL Goverment and claim nothing wrong was going on at all.

JIBBA JESUS,
I think that the govenment acted like the Jack-booted thugs that they were accused of being. And Children drawing pictures of the house with hearts and nice coloration was not consistent with child molestation victims. Child molestation victims tend to scribble with red and black crayons. The bullet holes in the roof that they drew were dipictions of what happened after the givernment attacked them. So Presidents George Bush, and Clinton get a big thumbs down from me on this subject. They should both have lost their jobs over this. Koresh could have been arrested for illegal firearms possession while in the town visiting, or on one of his morning jogs.

I think for myself. And I will not fall into the propaganda attempt by the government since the events of those infamous days. I'm surprised at those who do.

The feds over-reacted to Koresh and could have handled any arrest they wanted to do without killing everyone in the place. The way the feds handled it was beastly and caused not only the deaths of the Koresh clan but the deaths of federal agents.

David Koresh was duping the Branch Davidians into believing his rantings and foolish babbling. He had the spirit of Satan and so many people followed him because they liked what he said, they had no concern for the teachings of the Bible.

He was a devil dressed like a saint.

The government did not kill the people there. David Koresh and his followers killed them.

Man. Sorry, Jibba. I wouldn't want to ever see that place.

And Koresh, like the rest of the religious nutcases, was a goof. Those poor children sure didn't deserve what happened to them.

I think he was obviously a good false prophet, because so many people followed him to their deaths. Him not letting the children go was inhuman, which made him a monster in my eyes. But the whole think was botched by the ATF. It never should have gone down that way.
