We'll find out Puretake3 if the Quality team of Q&A bans my question (for not qualifying at such) eventually I will receive one of their alert emails and you'll be right... But then a cast of suspicion will emerge, why would they ban this question in particular, because of its political orientation? What ideology are they supporting?

Bah Humbug. We have somewhere in the range of 30,000 troops in south Korean and another 40,000 or so in Japan plus 70,000 in Germany.

But overstretched isn't the reason we aren't going to war with North Korea. The fact is we are still at war with North Korea. The Korean war never ended, officially a peace treaty was never signed only a cease fire.

The reason is North Korea is a bigger threat to China, South Korea and Japan than to us. A halft effort by any one of those three could crush the North Korean's. There is no reason for us to deal with this.

I think the only way that the US would be involved in a possible war with North Korea would be if we provided air support for China, Japan, and/or South Korea. Of course, the troops already stationed there would be expected to help, but the fact that our forces are stretched so thin around the world would prevent us from becoming too involved.

The US will not go to War with N. Korea simply because they DO have weapons of mass destruction and the US simply doesn't have the balls. The USA, historically, has only picked on the weak and like any bully, will not take on a fight where it knows it might lose as opposed to the others where it thinks it will win but still loses because of incompetence and underestimation of the opponent. The inability of the US administration to learn from history and apply intelligence to a diplomatic situation, rather than political dogma is why this will continue to be so, much to the detriment of many, many innocents..ooops..sorry "collateral damage." Bush and his current administration are rather like a person with MLD. Their inability to understand that people are smarter than them is why they think they can get away with obvious lies. I deal with it every day.

IF N. Korea wants to pick a fight (rather than feed its people and produce electricity for lights**)
THEN they should be prepared for the consequences...
The US has the ability to destroy N. Korea and still spare the S. Koreans any fall-out ...The USA pities N. Korea as their part of the Peninsula cant even be seen at night ..South Korea is lit up like a floating island.

Make no mistake...The US prefers to spare innocents or those that suffer from oppressive and wanna be world ruler governments BUT
like all typical Human's ..if it's us or them they die

The United States does not want to go to war with anyone, but we have to protect the security of out country. What do you do if you're threatened? You want to defend yourself. Yes, the military is stretched-thin, but amazingly, people are enlisting all the time and you'd be surprised how many in the military now have "re-enlisted." Most are very proud of what they do and they will do what they have to do to serve our country.

The United States military does not have hands, we have weapons. (standby I have to slice a piece of Filet Mignon before it gets a little chilly)

If we go to war with you the first thing you should do is stick your head between your legs and kiss your communist azzes goodbye!

Say hello to Stalin when you get to hell.
