My stomach looks like I;m 3 months pregnant, and yet my weight has not dramatically altered (and I am not pregnant). I have had some constipation problems, but even after a bm it still looks that way. What could be a cause of this? It's really embarrassing, and my pants are a bit uncomfortable as well.

Yeast overgrowth in the intestines and a imbalance of intestinal bacteria. Drink acidophilous milk or take some pro-biotic supplements. Green Tea is said to be able to balance your intestinal bacteria as well! So, you might wanna try green tea. If it is yeast you can try taking the oregano oil. I use the "NOW" brand liquid capsules. And believe me! Oregano oil will kill the yeast! But after doing so you would want to take the pro-biotics to replace the intestinal flora.

I lived with this problem for years and kids in school used to ask me if I was pregnant all the time, which was, obviously, humiliating. Any inflammatory response (such as inflamed gastrointestinal tract) is caused by irritation of some sort, to put it very simply. In my case, I have a number of food sensitivities and, once they were identified and eliminated from my diet, the bloating has gone away. I feel like new person. It may also be necessary to increase water intake and do a mild cleanse 3-5 times a year to clear out toxic build up along with getting tested for vitamin and mineral deficiencies that might be contributing to difficulty digesting food.

But let me just say it's well worth your while to see a Naturopathic doctor who can help you identify your food sensitivities.

Some of the most common ones are: Wheat, Dairy products, Corn, Soy, Cane Sugar and improper food combinations such as combining starchy foods or fruits with proteins in the same meal.

I hope this helps! You really can overcome it!! It just takes time and attention and getting to know your body's reactions to every decision you make. It's well worth the effort!
